About

American Standard

Originally founded as the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company in 1875, the company adopted the name American Standard in 1967 and has grown to provide its innovative kitchen and bath products in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The company offers hundreds of walk-in tub variations according to type, features, material, size, and price, and, as the manufacturer of the tubs (not just a distributor), it manages warranty terms and details with customers directly. In addition to walk-in tubs, American Standard manufactures faucets, sinks, toilets, traditional tubs, and showers, many of which are designed with environmental sustainability in mind. With over 140 years of experience manufacturing high-quality products and serving customers, American Standard has become a trusted brand in the industry.

Showroom and Retail Availability

American Standard walk-in tubs are available for seeing in person at showrooms throughout the country. This allows potential customers to see and touch different tub models and also to talk to design professionals and experts prior to making a purchase or even getting an in-home installation quote. Tubs can be purchased from showrooms, retailers, wholesalers, and online retailers.

Simple Process

American Standard’s general process for purchasing a walk-in tub is simple. First, interested individuals schedule an appointment with one of the company’s representatives. An in-home visit allows American Standard to hear the potential customer's needs, assess his or her bathroom’s current design layout, and provide a free estimate for the complete purchase and installation of a walk-in tub. Next, American Standard’s team coordinates a full installation of the customer’s new walk-in tub, as well as remove the old bathtub and any debris from the installation. Once installation is complete, the customer receives instructions on how to operate his or her new tub with one of the company’s specialists.

Returns and Refund Fees

American Standard has a fairly typical return and refund policy. However, there are a few things we believe customers should be aware of before they finalize their purchase.

First thing is that American Standard accepts returns for merchandise purchased at Americanstandard-us.com for up to 30 days after the date of purchase.

Secondly, all sales on clearance items are final, nonexchangeable, and nonrefundable.

Thirdly, original shipping fees are non-refundable. In fact, the flat shipping rate of $6.99 per order to return products will be deducted from the total refund amount. An additional fee of $20 per order will be deducted from the refund amount for returns shipped from Alaska and Hawaii.

If you are returning a bathtub, there is a freight fee of $100 per item (deducted from the refund amount). For Alaska and Hawaii, the freight fee goes up to $150 per item (deducted from the refund amount).

Additionally, there is a freight fee of $40 per item for toilet returns (deducted from the refund amount). That freight fee increases to $65 per item for residents of Alaska and Hawaii.

Again, these are fairly typical throughout the industry, but it is something to keep in mind before hitting the buy button.

The American Standard goal is to help customers feel independent and safe in the comfort of their own homes and the company does that and more by making the tub-buying process as easy as possible. With a huge inventory of its own manufacturing, a host of safety features and hydrotherapy options, filtered search navigation, member-login warranty management, and installation, American Standard is undoubtedly among the top competitors in the industry.
