Initial process was fine. Abdal did a good job explaining options and setting me up with a system that works great for my home. Install process was relatively smooth with a few hiccups here and there. Customer service is just plain bad. Have had a few issues since turning my system on, first issue was resolved quickly, second issue not so much. Have sent 3 emails over the last three weeks with absolutely ZERO response. On the brink of taking legal action against them for breach of contract on their part.
Update: so I guess it depends who you talk to in order to get issues correct. I spoke with Abdul about my issue and he corrected it immediately! Thank you Abdul and if you have problems go to your rep not the 800 number.

So obvious fake reviews. Competitor employees and friends. One didn’t even bother to change name on review “sons of solar†a broker.
Sunrun is A+ at the BBB. A trusted partner with companies like Costco, Home Depot and Xfinity.
Highly rated at Consumer Affairs dot com and Best Companies. Recently ranked 20th for companies with happiest employees! Not a perfect company- but ranked number 1 solar company in the US. So naturally the haters will hate.

Wow. A lot of fake reviews here. Let me dispel some rumors about Sunrun. Sunrun doesn't care if you buy the panels or buy the power. Consultants are not compensated by how someone goes solar. Sunrun is the only company that Costco has ever offered to their members who are looking to go solar. Costco is widely known as the best retailer in the country, and getting your product or service in there is one of the most difficult things a company can do. Sunrun also partners with Home Depot, the largest home improvement retailer in the country, since 1978. Do you think either company would partner with a company that constantly lied & couldn't deliver? Me neither. Sunrun also has a A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Ratings are based on a company's ability to solve problems, which is why they've been given the highest rating a company can get. BBB ratings are also verified and no Google reviews are, which is why I'm able to write a review right now & I'm not a customer. Going solar isn't always easy & there are sometimes issues that come up throughout the process. The company tries to shield customers from this the best they can, but sometimes the ball is dropped, like with any company. The reality is that the vast majority of Sunrun customers are ecstatic, even if it takes a bit longer for them to get installed. Sunrun didn't become the #1 residential solar company in the country by ripping people off and lying to their customers. Costco and Home Depot wouldn't throw down with rip off artists either. If you're interested in going solar, deciding on which company to go with shouldn't be decided here. Set up appointments with several & bring in Sunrun last & see what they have to say. Regardless of who you go solar with, going solar will benefit everyone looking to be green & gain control over their ever increasing electricity costs. Good luck!

I wish I could give them zero stars!!!
They made my house look like a circus!
Sloppy install and couldn’t put as many panel as they said so they did a change order without any notice or my permission.
They are overcharging me every month and Drew my account associate will not answer phone calls or emails.
Got my electric bill and I am saving zero dollars!
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY THEY LIE AND ARE SLOPPY!!
Once they get your bank info they just help themselves!!

The initial sales process went smoothly, but then so many things went wrong. The process to evaluate my roof and acquire permits took months. Then Sunrun offered to replace 50 sq ft of my roof in order to have enough structural integrity to install the panels. I called the contractor who had no idea what he was supposed to do. This went on for a few weeks more before ultimately Sunrun decided I no longer needed any portion of my roof replaced, just a few minor repairs and they were ready to install. I called the contractor back and he explained my roof had 8 years maximum life left and that the cost to remove the panels to repair the roof, inevitably, would be my cost burden unless the repairs were specifically linked to their install.
I called to cancel about two weeks ago.
I just got an email today saying my install is scheduled for end of September. It’s not.
Contacting Sunrun is also impossible. I would say work with Sunrun only if it’s acceptable to you to call to endless voicemail machines, speak with people who know nearly nothing, and ultimately waste your time.
The company operates so poorly that I’m literally wondering if I should open a competitive business which, if run at least adequately, would be 3 times better.
