Wells Solar

I contracted Wells Solar to install solar for my home, and it went fine for the most part. However, I noticed that one of the panels was generating significantly less than other panels, so I called Wells Solar to look into it. They didn't communicate what was going on for awhile, and they told me that there was something wrong with the optimizer when I finally called them and asked about it. They said they'll order the part and replace it. I haven't heard anything back since.

I recently found out that Well Solar has gone out of business, so I reached out to another installer to get the issue resolved. 512 Solar has been great for helping me with the issue, but they found out that Wells Solar was not only wrong about the optimizer but also they DID NOT REGISTER OUR PANELS THROUGH TESLA. 512 Solar told me that the issue is actually from the panels, and Tesla is not going to replace the panels for us since Wells Solar did not register our equipment with them.

I read another review about submitting complaint through Attorney General, so I did that as well. If you are dealing with something similar to me please do the same! I recommend contacting 512 Solar if you need service done on your system.

In August we contracted with Wells Solar for the installation of a generator. We paid the 75% deposit ($25,125.00) that was required. They came out about a month later and marked the area for the generator and propane tank, to be placed, and since then we have heard nothing. We have called every phone number that we have and no one answers. We even went to the office on Drossett Drive, last Wednesday, and it is locked up. A man came to the door and said that they were closing for a few weeks. But I do not believe that. I feel that are are going out of business and screwing people left and right.
If I could give a -100 review here, I certainly would. Legal action is my next step, but that probably will get me nowhere, or pennies on the dollar in bankruptcy.
This review is probably too late to help anyone else.
Addition:
I filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office. Based on the letter I received from them, if multiple people file a complaint about the same company (Wells Solar), it sounded they might represent a class action case. So if any of you would like to file with the attorney general and they decide there are enough complaints we might get a class action suit against Wells Solar.

I was told that Wells Solar sent out letters to existing customers explaining that they were having financial issues. I did not receive a letter. I am just wondering if anyone received one and if so, what it really said and what the date was on the letter. My gut tells me that they sent the letters out after my husband and I contracted with them and paid the deposit. How crooked is that!
If anyone received a letter, I would like to know, please and thank you.

They installed a system on my home a couple years ago, and that was fine. The problem is with service. I have had several microinverters not producing for about a month, I've been calling for service for the same period with no response. No one appears to be in any office anywhere, and several of the numbers listed have been disconnected. I went with them after being completely screwed by another company due to their positive reputation at the time, that has apparently not lasted. Not sure what the problem is within the company, but the customer is getting completely screwed. I am having to pay another company to come out. All of the work needed is within the warranty period, but the other company will not honor that because they didn't install it, and I don't blame them. Terrible way to behave. As a contractor in the construction industry I did extensive research before I pulled the trigger to avoid these issues, but now it seems as if they are not interested in maintaining their customer base. Such a terrible shame.

We purchased our panels in September 2022. In June of this year one of the panels was damaged. We filed an insurance claim to have our roof and panel replaced. Per our contract stipulated in the 25 year warranty, only Wells Solar can remove the panels and reinstall after the roof is replaced. We paid 50% or $4K in August to begin process to schedule work. Last spoke to a CSR in Arlington on September 13. Have tried with no success since September 20 to contact ANYONE!!! It appears the entire company is shut down. A class action lawsuit is needed!!

Very happy with my 60 panel ground mount system that Well's Solar installed! All work was done very professionally, and they cleaned up the site immaculately which is very important to me. The decision to choose Wells Solar was an easy one after meeting with Gary Betchel as he was the most knowledgably out of the 5 companies I received quotes from. While waiting for the installation and during the process Jessica Rodriguez did a fantastic job keeping me up to date, available by phone and text.
Thank you again for the great work and for my now nonexistent electric bills!

He was very helpful explaining everything, so that we could understand. He didn't try to pressure us into anything. We asked if we could think about it and get back with him, he said, of course and gave us his information. Even though it was over a week he didn't hound us, he patiently waited to hear from us. Once we decided to go with Wells he walked us thru everything again,to be sure we got what we wanted and even after we signed the contract he has been there for us. That is going above and beyond for a sales representative especially these days. Now as far as the rest of Wells Solar company and employees they are also very polite and professional. We couldn't be happier with the entire company and the system we have! We highly recommend Wells Solar to anyone,that is thinking about adding Solar. And recommend that they ask for Gary!
