Meet Our Leadership Team
As the senior vice president of Modernize Home Services, Alan is responsible for revenue and profitability growth for the business unit. Alan joined Modernize as the executive vice president of revenue and corporate development in 2017 where he led the company through triple-digit revenue growth, culminating in the acquisition by QuinStreet in 2020.
Alan has a successful track record leading pre- and post-IPO companies through rapid revenue and market expansion, and has led more than a dozen mergers and acquisitions as an operating executive and independent consultant.
Alan has a B.S in Computer Science and Mathematics from Texas A&M University. He is an active Board Member, Advisor, and Angel Investor in technology startups.
Jeff Barnes is the vice president and general manager of Modernize Core Services at QuinStreet where he leads sales, account management, customer success, and revenue in CORE services: windows, solar, roofing, and HVAC. Since 2015, he has served Modernize as the director of enterprise sales and account management, helping develop the largest customer network in the core verticals for which he is responsible. Prior to Modernize, Jeff started in home services and leadership in 2008, as the regional general manager for Clearwire, in the Northwest. Jeff carries over a decade of leadership experience in pre- and post-IPO environments and thrives in the digital technology space.
Jeff graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science and a Sales Certificate from the Foster School of Business. Jeff continued to hone his craft through the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, Executive Education Program.
James Sibley joined QuinStreet in 2009 and led the home services business prior to joining forces with Modernize. Currently, he leads the emerging services group for Modernize Home Services and is responsible for revenue and profitability growth for all new and emerging home service trades.
James has spent the last 15 years in the home improvement and home services digital marketing space serving multiple roles in both client growth and sales acquisition as well as media partnership management.
James has a B.A. in Economics and Music from the University of Michigan.
As the senior director of Modernize Business Operations, Josh is responsible for maximizing the value of Modernize offerings to homeowners and contractors alike through streamlined business processes, and the management of cross-functional strategic initiatives. Josh joined Modernize in 2014 and has served in multiple roles spanning client success, sales, marketing, call center operations, and as leader of the project management office. In total, he has over 15 years of experience working in the home and financial services industries.
Josh has a degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University and volunteers his time to coach and mentor youth athletes.
Jamie Smith is the director of client acquisition services where she focuses on multi-channel marketing strategy for clients. Prior to joining Modernize, Jamie was the director of marketing services at Motiv, a marketing automation and CRM management firm where she has helped many B2C and B2B organizations, including NASCAR, Powerball, NFL Alumni, and Johnson & Johnson (Lifescan) with their marketing programs.
Jamie graduated with a degree in Organizational Communications from the University of North Carolina and obtained a certificate from the Management Development Program at Harvard Business School.
Robert Skorpil joined Modernize in June 2019 as director of organic marketing and has led the strategy and execution of the organic search, social media, and content marketing teams to more than double modernize.com’s traffic. Robert has more than 20 years of experience developing websites, user-friendly content, and successful online marketing strategies for companies of all sizes including the rebranding, website redesign, and comprehensive B2C/B2B digital marketing plan for Grande Communications.
Robert holds a J.D. degree from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Letters from the University of Oklahoma where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
