Use to work for them. They are a major sales force for ADT. They use "Protect Your Home" as the name, but sells out of a company called "Defender". Confusing right? But either name you see whether ADT, ProtectYourHome or Defender, run fast as you can. They are scammers and use deceptive sales techniques to trick customers into paying high cost for trashy service and products. We were literally told to lie to the customers to get them to have a tech come to there home and once their you are basically harrassed to high heck to buy each and every product they have whether you need it or not. Scare tactics, high pressure selling, omitting of information, yoy name it they will use. I say try another company altogether. What they do should be illegal.

I've had ADT for two years and the video camera is so slow that by the time I get the text from the camera the delivery is dropped off on my porch and the person is already by back in his truck. I called and they said they would send me a new camera, then they didn't and the battery was dead and beeping for two weeks until they sent a replacement. I told customer service about this and they said that they system was still working good enough for you to pay full price. Shanta (customer service) was very rude on the phone. I would not recommend this company. Use comcast instead.

I run a business with three locations and have ADT at all three. At first everything seems to be great they are timely with visiting you and PROMISING the best security. Truth is their systems are faulty very often! Then you have to waste time contacting them which all of a sudden is very hard! Then you'll need to request a tech which was always 3+ weeks out! My system that isn't working and is suppose to help protect my business and you're telling me three weeks when you'd come over night to sell me the system.
Service is very very bad after they make you sign a contract. If you continue with ADT good luck they don't treat you well.

First I signed up with ADT who I have had in the past because renting I was able to get a deal. These scammers overcharge for the buy out and then put you in a 3 yr contract. I was told they would only handle my account for the first 30 days and it would be transferred to ADT. Nope a year later they are still handling my account and the service is horrible. I have had to have my unit replaced and my camera will disconnect on there own. Its frustrating when you try to check on your house and the cameras are not connecting. They don't send the police when the alarm goes off. I am just buying out my contract and moving own. I hear Simpli Safe is awesome.

One of the worst companies I have worked with. I am surprised ADT chooses to partner with a third-party like this. I was quoted one price over the phone and it wasn’t until all my installation was completed that my price suddenly changed. That came to light during contract signing. At that point they called their manager and made some adjustments. The fact that they would be doing a switch like that was already frustrating. Since being installed I’ve had to call multiple times for issues with my alarm system issues with the rebates they failed to send. Was not able to get a rebate sent to my email directly after multiple calls until after my rebates expired. Frustrating is an understatement. After 9 months of service I had to move. They let me know that the contract I signed was for the house I was in. Transferring service cost $107 installation fee, a $25 unhook fee, and forced me to renew a new two-year contract with ADT. I was lied to multiple times by multiple people.
Will consider canceling when I talk to them tomorrow. I may just pay $300 or so out of spite at this point to cancel my contract. Again some of the worst service I have ever seen. I will be thrilled when the day comes that companies like Comcast are able to put them out of business by bundling with all their other services.
Do not do business with these people.

The worst experience we ever had. We moved into our house a few years ago and got ADT immediately because my parents had it. We got installation for free and only paid monthly. We ended up canceling because my wife got a new job where her new company provided home security. After she led that job we tried for ADT again and spoke to rep who then sent a 3rd party (Defenders) to our house making us think it was all through ADT. So the guy was very nice but he was a salesman and tried to sell us everything and said the total would be 1600. So we said no never mind. The guy insisted that he would just do the regular alarms on windows and doors. And said we can cancel in 72 hours which we told him we are going to do. So after he left we canceled the next day but had to wait for ADT/Defender to call us back. Meanwhile they charged my account for a month worth of security. In a not shell after reading this short story. ADT lost me as a customer and I hope someone reads this before signing up with ADT security. We went with Ring and were happy!

I called ADT and Defender/Retailer showed up. I requested the touch screen panel that I saw online and when they came to install the equipment, they claimed that they don't have it. I called customer service 2 days before expiration date to cancel my contract because I was misled and given false information. Management convinced me to keep the service by offering me free upgrades. I scheduled an appointment to install the cameras and door keypad and doorbell. The technician never showed or called. I called customer service more than 3 times, no one could give me an explanation. I called ADT corporate and Defender to cancel my service once again and they claimed that I signed a three year contract and cannot cancel. They told me that I have to pay 75% on top of what I've already paid in order to grant my wish. They expect me to pay over $3000.00 for service that aren’t rendered. They advertised 6 months 100% customer satisfactory guaranteed or your money back. But, when I wish to cancel they can't honor that. Little did I know, if you accept their free stuff you are locked in regardless if the failed to deliver or show up to confirmed appointments. Each time I called customer service they hung up in my face, transferred me to dead end and won’t give me the complaint department contact information. ADT/Defender is the worst company out there. Don’t depend on them to service or protect your home. I will advise people to do their research before welcoming this company into their home. They are dishonest, rude, unreliable, bad customer service and fraudulent. Beware, they will lure you with free stuff until it’s too late to cancel. They only care about a piece of paper call contract and don’t care about their customers.
