Specific examples from my project:
• Electrical work was left incomplete, requiring me to hire a licensed electrician at my own expense to finish it.
• Several areas were installed without proper preparation, resulting in chipped slabs, misaligned cuts, unpatched drywall holes, and exposed wiring.
• Communication and follow-up became inconsistent, and I often had to chase updates to keep the project moving.
• Extended delays caused me to lose months of potential rental income, while I also had to pay for temporary housing.
This review reflects my personal experience and is not intended to cause harm, but to inform others. If you decide to work with BTB, I strongly recommend documenting every stage of the project, inspecting work before releasing payments, and ensuring all contracted items are fully completed before signing off.
EDIT: I want to clarify that the issues shown in my photos were never addressed or repaired during the remodeling as stated. I personally had to take care of many of these problems myself, and ultimately decided to stop working with Better Together Builders. I have since hired another contractor to complete the work more quickly and with better quality.
EDIT 2: I also want to note that I was not aware when I signed with Better Together Builders that they are not direct contractors. Nearly all of the work is subcontracted out. In my experience, many of these subcontractors delivered mediocre work, and a few performed far below acceptable standards. Some crews were clearly working beyond their skill level, which contributed to the poor quality and incomplete results I received.
Update (October 2025):
After further review of my case and legal documentation, I discovered additional issues with the project performed by Better Together Builders. The contractor installed the wrong type of water heater (indoor instead of outdoor), which required full replacement and additional costs. I also confirmed that large portions of the kitchen and bedroom work were abandoned and left incomplete, forcing me to hire a new team and seek legal counsel.
Despite my efforts to resolve this directly with BTB, no meaningful communication or corrective action has been taken.
My previous review still stands, but I wanted to provide this update for full transparency. Homeowners should proceed with caution and verify all project scopes, permits, and installations carefully before making payments.

Every question, every concern was met with an honest answer & a thoughtful solution. They would present various options and go over in great detail the potential pros and cons of each. They were always there even when they weren't on-site. Just a call or group-text away.
Really a terrific team of workers who were always on time, very friendly, and consistently working toward delivering exactly what you have in mind.
As much as I'm glad the job is done, I'll miss having the guys and gals around. They truly did go above and beyond our expectations.
Our main reason for choosing BTB was to add a front path. We repeated this priority throughout planning, yet it was continually downplayed. We were told it would be handled later, but once the project was finished, the path was never built. Now we’re left with a disorganized front yard and no path, the feature that started this project.
A standout was Sam, who stepped in midway to manage the project. She was attentive, action-oriented, and genuinely helpful. Her involvement improved things noticeably, and we believe if she had been there from the start, the project would have ended on a stronger note.
The quality of the work itself feels solid. Structurally, we feel safe and confident. Our foreman Ronan was fantastic, providing reassurance throughout. The team was diligent in addressing underlying issues with long-term fixes rather than quick patches. They stand by their work and have returned to address issues, giving us confidence the results will last. If you want a straightforward remodel without complex design, they’re a great fit.
That said, their approach seemed less suited to projects with unique or custom design elements. My wife and I are artists and were hoping to build a more whimsical character house. It didn’t become apparent until later in the project that decorative or outside-the-box features were not really their specialty, and that limited the final outcome in some areas.
One area we struggled with was the lack of a clear, shared vision. We did not receive 3D renderings for key spaces like the bathroom and the front of the house, which led to misunderstandings, such as the tub ending up in the wrong place and a too-tight toilet placement. We had seen examples of their 3D work online, so we were hoping for the same level of support, but despite asking several times, it did not materialize for our project.
As such, design communication wound up being a challenge. There was no real design work outside of the construction plans, so we never had a formal plan to guide the aesthetic details. I created a quick sketch of what the front of the house should look like, but it was not further developed by BTB into anything formal or detailed. We were repeatedly told “that choice comes later” when it came to several materials and details, which was then later forgotten.
For example, we asked for simple decorative beams around the windows and walls. This request was treated as unusual, followed by an inflated quote that felt like they were signaling they were done with our project. We ended up installing them ourselves.
Cleanup was another problem: cement spills, bubbling paint, staining, and sharp debris left in the yard delayed making it safe for our kids. We can’t help but wonder if by making creative choices, we lost their social media appeal and, along with it, some of their interest in our project.
A few tips for future clients:
-Know what you want before meeting with their designers and state your nonnegotiables clearly.
-Notify your homeowner’s insurance early as special coverage may be needed.
-Be aware that once your home is in open construction, financial changes like refinancing / new loans can be difficult to pursue.
-Do not plaster skim coat walls if you have kids, as they chip easily.
One suggestion to BTB is to include a thorough final cleaning in the project. Wrapping this into the cost and delivering a pristine, move-in-ready home would make the end result feel much more special and reflective of the investment.
In summary, if you have a clear plan aligned with their usual style, you will likely be pleased. But if your vision leans creative or highly customized, you might encounter some frustrations along the way.
May 2025
After a successful bathroom remodel with BTB, we hired them once again for another big task. We redid the flooring in the entire house, and they did an outstanding job in less than two weeks. The crew did everything - furniture removal, installation, new painted floorboards, and then put all of the furniture back in place patiently. Sam, our trusted project manager, was helpful and professional. She checked the progress in person daily and stayed in constant communication with us. No concern or question was too small! After completion, Sam continued to check in to make sure all was satisfactory. The flooring has made a huge difference in updating our home, and we will surely use Better Together Builders in the future. Thank you, BTB.
First review:
January 2025
From planning to design, from competitive pricing to execution, my experience with Better Together Builders proved to be excellent. Their work ethic, work quality, attention to detail, communication, and responsiveness are some of the things that made our two month main bathroom remodel extremely successful. This company has a tight team of specialists that take care of their respective jobs with pride and competency. Beginning with the initial consultation, the positive attitude and respect for our needs and ideas were impressive. The logical mechanics of the entire process and proposed budgeting were thoroughly explained both verbally and in written format. We knew exactly what to expect in terms of work stages and payment schedules. When unforeseen changes needed to be made, all addendums were presented for approval before proceeding.
Once the process began, there was regular, timely communication and professional interaction throughout the project. BTB had multiple recommendations for various venders when needed, and BTB seamlessly helped to coordinate with them. Our outstanding, knowledgeable project manager, Sam, made herself and the team readily available. As I am quite detail oriented, Sam’s “There is a solution for everything,” mantra definitely helped to keep this remodel on track and less stressful. Isaac’s contractor expertise, his sense of humor, and the precision of both he and his capable crew also made this a positive experience. Furthermore, the approachability of the owner and accounting team was also very much appreciated.
Overall, I highly recommend Better Together Builders, and I will hopefully be working with them again in the future. We felt they were “on our side” to guide and problem solve to our satisfaction. They truly made us feel like we were their only clients although we know they have many!
