The entire sales pitch is centered around getting a tax credit of more than half the cost of the system being installed. After which they state you will simply replace your electricity bill with payment plan of solar panels after the tax credit is applied. Without the tax credit you're looking at 50k. with the credit, you're looking at 22k.
After signing up for installation I looked into the tax credit, and it is not nearly as straightforward as they sell it to be. Because of this I wished to stop the process.
They never stated a cancellation fee in the sales pitch. But an employee (assuming working for their collections department), called and threatened to send me to collections unless I paid $1250 to cover their 'extensive labor input thus far'. What a pile of BS, not only that but the employee was extremely condescending and all they try to do is force you to go through with the process even if you don't want to due to how expensive it would be without the tax credit.
Just some slimy business practices. If someone doesn't want to go through with your product, there's no reason to take a fat chunk out of them on the way out.
Update (2/19): Blue Raven Solar's customer service has reached out and waived the cancellation fee and recognized several points of mistakes they made along the process. As I greatly appreciate this, I will reflect it in my review, but getting to this point has not been enjoyable and I wish to remain transparent with those reading this review.
Great resolve from the issues that occurred, but the road to this resolve has been a bit rough. In the future, I will be much more careful and observant when going forward with solar installation companies in general.

BUYER BEWARE! Once you have given them your money...in my case it was 90k for approximately 30 panels. I recently called in to service in regards to discuss a microinverter that has failed on my system. The tech stated it is out of labor warranty and will be $349 for the 2 hour visit, which will be two visits: One to diagnose, and one to repair, I'm now at $700. When I questioned this and asked if we can do hourly from the time he arrives, and or just send me a new microinverter and then have it installed for $349....he stated, "if you are not going to pay, this call is done" and hung up on me. Cool, you took 90k from me, and now are treating me like an timeshare telemarketer. I regret purchasing from Blue Raven Solar!

Oh my goodness, I can't even begin to describe the journey we have been through with Blue Raven. It has been the worst experience I have ever been through. In May 2024 a rep came to our door to sell us solar panels and all the information sounded really good so we signed up. They said it would be maybe 9 week total to be completed. We are in December and still nothing. Every time I have spoken with them on the phone I had to be the one to reach out. I have not received a single phone call from them except from them today to tell me the loan expired and we would have to submit another application. Mind you, I called them weeks ago to let them know the application was going to expire soon and they told me not to worry about it.. he said he was keeping an eye on the account and was going to submit an extension before it actually expires. They never did that. I have had to continuously call throughout the months to get the process pushed along. I have had to call to get the permits done, and to get the main panel upgrade scheduled. The panel upgrade never got scheduled though, for months I would call and they would set an "appointment" and then send me a text saying the appointment was canceled because xcel didn't have any openings for that day and they would tell me I would receive a call in 2 days to schedule an appointment. I would call back a week later to see where the process was at, and they would schedule another appointment and it would get canceled again. This went on for months. Finally, they would tell me it would take two weeks to schedule an appointment with xcel and that I would get a call then. When I call back 18 days later, I find out the loan expired but all they need to do is submit the extension. Now 12 days later they call to tell me I need to resubmit the application because the lender needed more information about our mortgage payments/statements. This was just the worst of it. I have had to go back and forth with them on multiple issues and information that wasn't submitted correctly which I don't even know how that happened because I thoroughly went through everything when we signed up and made sure everything was correct. So I'm not sure how information just randomly changed. At one point, they even had the wrong address under our account!! Needless to say we will not be going with Blue Raven and I really wish we could've had an experience like some of the other people had and I hope nobody has to experience what we did. I really wanted this to be a pleasant experience but in the end it was really stressful and we were just let down.

Darren came by door to door, he sat outside with me and talked about the company and process. He came back a second time to go over things we had questions about before we agreed. It’s a little nerve racking to deal with a door to door salesperson and a company you don’t know. We looked them up, we spent a couple days thinking, and there was zero pressure from Darren. Nice we went ahead with it, he worked with us on financing, got things rolling with the install, and then the install team came out and Jay and the crew were great. So far my power bill has been dropped by over 60% and I’m saving about 20 dollars a month already.

It may be too early to know, but so far the whole experience has been seamless. The Sales representative was personable, informative and not pushy at all.
Today the installation crew were friendly, efficient, seemed knowledgeable and were great to work with. I still need and inspection before they get turned on then need to see how well the panels do.

Everyone I dealt with at Blue Raven were very professional and likable! I had a bit of a glitch in my particular job, and the company was super quick responding to it & not only getting what I needed done quickly, but exceeding my expectations for superior service. Plus, they take care of contacting EVERYONE to get permissions taken care of, and permissions sent to you, so it is SUPER SIMPLE! Loved working with them and would absolutely recommend them to you if you are looking in to getting some solar panels.

Blue Raven provided exceptional service from start to finish. The response time for questions and follow-up was superb! Technical crew was friendly and the solar panels look amazing! The panels are all one color including equipment so the look uniform and great from all angles. I was initially nervous about having them on the front of the house but they look great. When calling to get help on direction to turn the on the help was amazing and she was patient and kind.

From the Sales to the installation of the solar panels, Blue Solar representatives communicated early and often. In practice, this meant we were never surprised and every step seemed to fall into place with perfect timing.

Bit a long process due to some extra work that needed to be do e in my situation, but overall it was great. The install itself was very quick and everyone was very friendly and communicative.

If it wasn’t for dealing with those pesky power company people this experience would have been well above what I expected. To say it was a long process of waiting for them would be quite an understatement. However, this isn’t a review of them. 😅
Everyone from the initial salesperson that came to the door, to the people who came out to install the panels were friendly and helpful.
The installers were more informative than anyone, and that was still after having my house added onto an already long day.
Whenever the “ball” was in their court, it was quickly taken care of. The actual process of getting the panels (16) and electrical installed took less than 5 hours. And that was with a stop for fresh ice water, and a short popsicle break.
Very happy experience with this company so far, and should any problems arise, I would expect them to keep up with their great customer service/support.
