A largely positive solar installer known for professional staff and solid installations, but with notable concerns about post-install support, responsiveness, and some workmanship issues.
Most homeowners praise EHS for professional, knowledgeable staff, high-quality installations, and clear guidance during the sales and installation phases. Customers frequently highlight efficient crews, tidy work, competitive pricing, and dependable system performance that delivers energy savings. However, recurring criticisms center on post-installation service, responsiveness, and scheduling delays, with multiple reports of voicemail-only contact and slow repairs. Some projects also cite site and aesthetic concerns (conduit routing, roof penetrations) and instances of difficult warranty or repair processes. Overall, EHS demonstrates strong capabilities but must improve after-sales support and reliability.

We got our solar about 4 years, we end up with roof leak after the installation. However, the staff have been responsive and supportive in helping us with the repair. Kirby, especially has been so instrumental in helping us get this repair done, being so efficient and positively responsive. We appreciate the fact that after the installation, we have been able to get support after.

Pre Review, Not Final
Seeking resolution before submitting final rating
This review is separate from the one I left for Kirby. I will update my full EHS review once we receive a response. The customer service from Kirby, Ryck, Patricia, and Hayden has been great throughout the process. Our concerns are specifically about the final appearance of the installation and the lack of clarity around the conduit routing.
We chose EHS because of their partnership with Roofing.co. Since both companies were working together under one bundled service, we expected a coordinated design, clear communication, and a clean final product. We also understand how busy EHS is at the end of the year with many homeowners trying to go solar before the 30 percent federal tax credit changes. We respect the workload.
However, the placement of the conduit on the front slope of our black metal roof, installed in grey instead of black conduit that would have matched the roof, was never explained to us beforehand. If we had known the conduit would be visible from the street, we would have requested alternatives or reconsidered the installation.
After speaking with three high end solar installers, all confirmed that cleaner routing options were available even with a standing seam metal roof. They explained that the conduit could have been routed into the attic using proper flashing and boots, brought down the backside of the home, or run along the fascia under the drip edge. They all agreed that using grey conduit on a black roof creates an unnecessary aesthetic issue.
While painting the conduit will help slightly, it does not resolve the core concern that the most visible routing option was used without discussing alternatives. We are hoping to speak with EHS about whether rerouting is still possible before painting becomes the final solution.
We invested significantly in both the metal roof and the solar system, and the current appearance does not reflect what we believed we were getting. We are not trying to harm the company, only asking for transparency, communication, and a fair resolution.
We will complete a full review once the backup battery is installed as well, which we understand is still pending permit approval.
For potential customers, we want you to be fully aware and prepared when meeting with a sales representative. Here are questions we wish we had asked upfront,
• How will the conduit be routed, and will it be visible from the street,
• Will the conduit color match the roof or exterior,
• Can the wiring be routed through the attic or along the fascia instead of across the roof,
• What are the aesthetic options for metal roofs specifically,
• Are there cleaner alternatives if the first proposed route is not ideal,
Asking these questions early can help prevent surprises later.
Once we hear back from EHS and understand the next steps, we will update this with our final experience, photos, and rating.
We hope to resolve this before finalizing our review.
Thanks, and we look forward to your response.

3 years after my solar installation, the installer went out of business.I was orphaned. My Enphase app alerted me that I had a bad microinverter. I contacted Efficient Home Services and bought a 5 year contract.for $1740. Enphase provided a new microinverter and Sean M intalled it.
Now, a year later, I have a possible short that trips the breaker and keeps 9 panels off line. I called customer service and no one picked up, used online chat, sent emails. In my unanswered messages, I threatened them with a bad Google and Nextdoor review. No response. Only when I called the number given for new customers did someone answer. He told me that he would make sure service knew about my situation. It's now been 10 days after that and still nothing. It is my first time writing a bad review on anything, but at this point, I have lost out on power on my house plus the money for the maintenance agreement.

From the moment my solar and Tesla system was being installed, Derek Kirby with EHS (Efficient Home Services) made the entire experience easier. He took the time to walk me through downloading the Tesla app, set everything up, and made sure I understood what I was looking at. He’s respectful, patient, and carries himself with a level of professionalism that honestly stands out.
Even though the interconnection with Duke Energy took a while and only went live today, Kirby still stopped by to make sure everything was working the way it should. He walked me through the app again, answered every question, and double-checked the system before he left.
If you’re looking into solar, I would highly recommend Kirby at Efficient Home Services for your solar needs.

Derek Kirby and Dean Smith at Efficient Home Services (EHS) located in St. Petersburg, FL, in a period of 24 hours from me calling them were able to expertly schedule and install my ChargePoint flex EV charging system. Derek made it happen over the phone for me and Dean came to my home and installed my owner supplied ChargePoint flex EV charger in about two hours. Both gentlemen were extremely courteous and interested in doing the very best they could to help me complete my project. Derek kept me informed throughout the day letting me know that Dean Was running late, but would finish my job as promised today! I was amazed that Dean came to my home on a Friday evening after a long week and a very long day and expertly, efficiently, And professionally installed my EV charger! Truthfully, I would have expected that they would have told me that the Install would have to wait until Monday, but to my surprise, they kept their word and completed the project Today as promised! I give both Dean and Derek my highest possible recommendation for completing any type of solar installation, associated systems, and electrical projects. I have recently dealt with another solar company in another city and state that cannot hold a candle to EHS, Efficient Home Services, and these two gentlemen…. Dean Smith and Derek Kirby!

Once they get your money there is no customer service. You can call but always goes to voicemail. We’ve been waiting on a return call for a year now on a simple question. Last night we had a fire inside our electric panel that they upgraded/installed due to faulty hook up of the solar line per our electric company. I made several calls to EHS this morning. The only way I could actually get a person was to pose as a new customer. Even after explaining that I have no power due to the fire inside the box I was sent to someone’s voicemail. When I did actually get to speak to someone they said they would call me right back and after waiting I tried calling them back. I was told that they were out of the office. I finally got a call back from a manager who had an immediate attitude and said that it wasn’t on them since they installed it a little over a year ago. She was very rude and unhelpful. Also the guy that they sent to upgrade the electrical panel came out and told us that he was not licensed. When I brought this up to Jose today he said that they work under a blanketed licensed electrician. When the rude manager called me back she told me that he was licensed and that she “highly doubts” the electrician would have said that. So when choosing who you use for solar run as fast as you can from this place. You will get absolutely NO customer service.
Update. Response to owners comment. I hung up on your manager that was belittling me when I spoke to her. I was told by Jose that he was calling me right back. Then I find out that he left. I had a fire caused by your hookup to the main panel lines. You replaced the main panel and did all the work.
I never received a call back yesterday. So I had to pay a licensed electrician $900 to fix your shotty work so I can have power restored in my home.
If anyone is looking for solar I would tell them to RUN as fast as they can from your company.

We worked as a roofing contractor for this solar company. We had to go replace half of a roof they caused leaks on. Five rooms on this house had leaks due to solar rack mounts being installed upside down… We have still not been paid by this company after almost a year, a lawsuit and a judgement. We are now having to execute the judgement because they still refuse to even communicate. Beware this company. They may end up with liens and lawsuits that affect your property.

Kirby from EHS, came out this morning to go over all panels to ensure system was functioning and reinstalled properly. He made a correction, that was just an oversight from reinstallation, all is good now for the panels. He also had arranged for the inspector by the county to come already. Thank you for ensuring my solar panels are secured and functioning properly. :)

STAY AWAY !!! They installed my solar panels on August 2020 !!! 5y later it has some problems and need to be addressed !!! THEY COMPLETELY FAIL TO FIX IT !!! Not answering and hanging up if answering... telling someone will call you but it never happens !!! This not the way how you treat a disabled veteran !!! To install they good but taking care of the customers it the worse company I ever seen !!! Consider it done(history) after they left your home !!! Look for reliable customer service company !!! Do your research !!! Keep in mind customer care service !!!
P.S. IF you had similar experience please contact me , together we have better chances in court to win !!!

Update from my review from 2 months ago.
***Caution from a 100% paid in full customer***
My panels along with a roof were installed in January 2025 almost 9 months later the system has never & still does not work 100%.
I will outline my detailed notes of each dropped ball later but waiting on communication from @Hayden or @John Henry's on course correcting the ongoing problem. I was "guaranteed" that I would be fully operational by the 2025 hurricane season... here we are and not operational.
Positive note- Kirby has been nothing but very communicative and at least "appears" to want to get the problem resolved. Also the ladies that service the customer service calls are always polite and courteous.
