LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Brad and his brother were very professional. Although it is extremely cold, they kept on removing and checking for screws. They both have pleasant attitudes and take pride in their work.

This is an update from my original review. It is still an absolute nightmare after they installed my gutters. My gutters are now leaking in two spots. The drip line must also be off because water is leaking behind the gutter and it is running into my soffit and facia. The water can then run into my house!! They've been back twice to repair the problem. They even damaged a piece of soffit and facia and a porch heater. This has been the biggest mistake I've made since I've purchased my home. I refuse to pay them until the job is perfect. Frankly, I deserve a huge discount after this nonsense.

Chris, of CMFS Gutter Solutions PH404335 worked all alone in frigid conditions. He began by shoveling ice and snow to provide a safe base for erecting his ladder to remove and install a long run of wide gutter. He then added a wide gutter into an in ground downspout. He cleaned up the debris very well. He gets high marks from us for his work.

Only time will tell if the sun hits the downspout on the west side of the house with enough intensity to melt the ice in the downspout that had, prior to Chris’s work been inserted into the ground. Our hope is that we will not have the extreme build up of ice that had occurred previous to the new installation.

Had leafFilters in stall expensive gutter guards and told had lifetime warranty .. have icicles on the whole side of my house that I never had before and when I called they said there is a $95.00 service call to look at it ...

Jon was professional and efficient in installing our Leaf Filter Gutter protection. Job was done quickly. Look forward to many years of clean, working gutters.

Rusty Sarver did a great job. All the old was removed and disposed of. The new gutters look terrific. Even in the middle of February, it was completed in two days. Fine work.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT for the northern snowy weather. First winter of having the Leaf Filter gutter guards resulted in a huge ice dam on my roof, causing 10’s of thousands of damage. The local installer/retail office was of no help. They wouldn't confirm nor deny the ice dam was caused by the Leaf Filter guards. Their suggestion was that I purchase, on top of the overpriced guards, heating cords for my roof. They sell the guards as a stand alone product. At no time in their sales pitch do they make mention of using heating cords in conjunction with the guards. I am very disappointed in the purchase and the after-install service. Ultimately, my fix was to remove some of the Leaf Filter guards and yes, purchase and install heating cords. I monitor my roof closely during the snowy winter months. It’s two years post ice dam. I’m taking the time now to write this as I still stew about the costs I’ve incurred, and I’m so tired of seeing their flyers in my mailbox.

I had my gutters installed less than two years ago and just about everyone I've dealt with is "no longer a part of the company". The guy that installed the gutters on the back of my house didn't have the "bigger size" gutters on his truck, so the water skips over them in the summer when it rains hard. I was told the installation was incorrect so now I'm getting water behind the gutters into my siding. My husband and I have been trying to get this repaired for over a year while my house continues to be damaged by water. Their solution is for me to pay (a lot of money) to replace the gutters on the back of my house, even though they incorrectly installed them. This "lifetime warranty" is a joke and customer care is even worse. I'm sure if everything is installed properly and you have no hiccups then it's fine. If you run into problems then you're going to be sorry you chose this company. Now I have to get gutters repaired and who knows how much damage to my house.

Edit: their "support team" has been in touch before and they just connect me with their field manager who is a complete waste of my time. I've been trying to call Mike for almost a year and he continues to ignore my calls after he told me I need to pay to repair my gutters.

Post Edit: The response to this review was to have someone three states over email my husband to let him know they set up an appointment for a service technician to come on a Monday in the middle of the day to look at our gutters. Nobody contacted us to ask if we'd be home. Nobody wants to know why we're having issues. They informed us because of the age of our gutters there could be a $95 service charge. We've had several of these appointments set up before and nobody shows up. They have wasted so much of my time it's unbelievable and so unprofessional.

I was going to wait until it snowed to give a full review, but I can already say I do not recommend. They are professional door to door salesman, with a carrying case of supplies to sell you like it's the 50's. Don't fall for them running the single piece under your sink. It works great if there are no outside conditions to slow it down. In real life, it can clog from a single well placed leaf. I originally called them as my gutters clogged for the first time 6 years. I've had this system for a little over a month and it clogged in the exact same spot. They'll try to sell you that you don't have to go up there ever again, but that is 100% untrue. You have to go up weekly during fall to see if the system has been clogged by its enemy; literally everything outside. It is way cheaper just to have someone clean your gutters once every other year. I am full of regret after this purchase for all the reasons below.

- He lied during the demonstration and conveniently "forgot" to tell me they were going to put up splash guards everywhere. These just catch and hold debris, causing yet another choke point at heights I cannot safely access. He also said this was a new design, specifically made for the PNW, and that is was tilted enough for leaves and debris to just fall off. Looks like they just settled a class action lawsuit and adjusted it barely to close that out, because everything still sits on it.

- Called and they don't answer. They tell you to reach out via the website, but they also don't get back to you from there either. It has been over a month with no reply. Once the money was in their hands, they are gone like any common thief.

- Was told it would take 3-4 hours to install, but it took them over 10 hours. I had to leave after 6 hours, because I made plans based off what they told me. The installers had me essentially forge that I was happy with everything so they could work without me there. My landscaping was damaged, as whatever they were doing caused a groove to be burrowed into my installed walkway the entire length of the home. It's still there today. The installers came back unannounced the next day but I wasn't home and no one ever called to tell me why. Did they forget to do something? Were they coming to address an issue, or clean up the mess they left? I guess I will never know.

- Neither the installers' outfits or their vehicle had company identification on them and they barely spoke English. Nice guys, but the company propaganda videos show them coming in head to toe Leaf Guard attire, which was 100% false.

- They left debris and screws in the yard, which I had to clean up.

- This system clogs even faster than your open gutter. I do not recommend and do not let them come out, because they will pressure you hard to make a deal right there. A company that cannot give you any type of pricing before coming out is not to be trusted.

After months of trying to get a hold of someone, I finally did. They sent out a tech to look at my problem and his answer was I needed to spend 200$ more dollars. How is that possible after already plunking down thousands? He said the salespeople don't know what homes really need or what options should be offered. I complained and his boss said they'll eat the cost because it's been less than a year. How nice of them to do so after I refused to pay...not!

The same tech also said the salespeople will lie about not needing to every clear your gutters again because they are just after a commission. He said I have to go up there every few months to clean the new Leaf Filter screens, as they get blocked by everything. I have never cleaned them in 6 years of owning my home. I understand that led to the clog, but what a joke this system requires way more maintenance. They can do it, for a 95$ call out. This company is nothing but a nickel and dime machine.

I know it's hard to listen to these reviews sometimes, and I'm guilty of it just as much. It's $200-250 dollars to get your gutters cleaned. Leaf Guard could pay for itself in 10+ years if it worked, but it doesn't. Keep the $3,500+ and just pay someone to clean your gutters and roof every other year. It's cheaper and even more effective.

We connected with LeafFilter at a Home and Garden Show after reading about the company. After exchanging info, we received a phone call the next day, scheduled appointment for the next day with salesman, and with a sizeable discount offer, we scheduled that same day and had the work done the very next day. Salesman Vince was polite, explained everything thoroughly, took pictures of our gutters, was not in a hurry. The installer Anthony was also extremely pleasant and nice, took pictures of gutters before and after, after finishing the job explained everything he did. Clean-up was amazing, Anthony did a superb job and we are thrilled we went with LeafFilter, worth every penny! A great experience over all!
