Sorry this is a long post but if you live in MN and are considering these windows you should read on. I did not have a great experience with Mad City Windows. Starting out the installation of the windows was sub par. I have had to have them come out to fix countless issues. Starting with 4 windows being installed in the wrong spot. We did not have a single screen that fit in the windows and some of the screens needed multiple attempts to get them to finally fit correctly. Credit to Mad City Windows for getting this right. This earned you your 1 star. The first winter we had to have them come back out and re-insulate over half of the windows because there was frost on the window sill. It was a very mild winter for MN, so I am extremely nervous for an actual MN winter. This winter has not started out very good either. Every single window in the house has frost/moister on it and 1 window is completely froze shut. I also found another window that I can feel a draft through the trim between the sill and the window so I will need to call them yet again. The amount of Asian Beatles and Box Elder bugs that I have found in my house since getting these windows is very concerning. If a bug can walk into the house you can bet the cold air is coming in too. If you get glider windows or double hung they put a door sweep between the two pieces of the window. You can see daylight if they are not lined up perfectly. Back to the installation of the windows. I am still finding random pieces of metal in the landscaping around my house and I've had to scrape foam off the rocks or through rocks away because they were covered in foam. I also had to climb on my roof to scrape spray foam of the shingles because it was bugging me and I could see it of my bathroom window. This is just an experiance from one very unsatisfied customer who's energy USAGE did not go down from installing new windows. Yes I looked at the units of heat used from the winter before the install to the winter after and I used more and the winter average temper was WARMER! I guess I picked the wrong company for a home IMPROVEMENT project.

We love our new shower! Larry S. did a remarkable job removing our old tub & installing the shower. He even found a potentially dangerous electrical issue which we were able to get repaired. He was also very conscientious - we never had anything to clean up, even after 2 days of work. He explained everything about proper open and cleaning, and he patiently answered all our questions. Highest marks for Larry S.

Overall they did an excellent job, especially in selling me a bathroom that I didn't need yet, which is why I knocked them down a star.
The sales process is arduous and involves multiple hours of them getting to know you and your situation while introducing you to their product. They never went over the line and told an outright lie but they frequently mentioned things that could be happening your bathroom.
All of the possibilities were real but the sales person refused to offer any estimate of how likely they were. This is, again, a proper way to do business because their sales people are NOT experts on mold and mildew, which they emphasize. Short version: don't sign on the dotted line until you find a way to verify their speculation as to what might be happening in your walls.
Once the sales process was over things got better for the customer. They worked hard and relatively efficiently and got the job done in 1.5 days and the result was as nice as well had been led to expect.
There were several small issues (window payment, hardware and billing were the most prominent) but they resolved the problems in a timely manner. Although they replaced the ceiling fan (very nice unit), they refused to do more than spray a bleach solution on the mold deposits on the ceiling that was the reason for the original decision to hire Mad City.
Would I do it all over again? Probably not because I've got a lot of bills I need to pay now. But the finished bathroom is very nice and was worth the money we paid for it.

Had a really great experience. Nick was great with helping us choose our patio door and window we wanted replaced. Didn't feel pressured into purchasing anything.
Chuck was great for our install. He kept things very clean and his attention to detail was impeccable. He cleaned up so well you couldn't tell we had any kind of install done.
We'll definitely use Mad City again.

Chris and Chad did a great job on my install. They caught an issue with some of my cabinet doors (wood grain on the horizontal rather than vertical) and made sure to get new doors ordered right away. They were careful of my home and my belongings and left the place shining. Chris explained the warranty and care of my products before he left. I will actually miss their company!

Worked with Grigorii as my installer, absolutely amazing work and professionalism. Incredibly satisfied with the results. Will work with again. Will be recommending him to friends and family. Was incredibly friendly with my wife and children even taking a minute to ask my kids how their day was

Grigorii and his team did a fantastic job with the windows install. A+ work and quickly done the job. Very professional and insightful. Would recommend for anyone who would need windows done. Had over 15 windows done and the team was able to remove the old ones and install the new ones in 2 days time.

My suggestion to anyone looking for windows is to purchase them through a reputable contractor (not a window company). You'll most likely end up with a higher quality product for a lower price.
We've had Mad City windows installed for a little over 2.5 years now. I have to say I'm not impressed. They are low-end and basic but we paid a high-end price. We ordered 11 windows total and that comes out to be about $1970/window ($2818/window after interest). Unfortunately, they don't seem any better in terms of energy efficiency than the ones we replaced. The sales person needed all "decision makers" in the house at once. That was a red flag I should have been more aware of. Also, said these windows were made in the Midwest to handle our winters, hmm, see pictures. We keep a low relative humidity in our house to combat moisture but these windows struggle as you can see. Definitely showed us a nicer window in his demo than what we received. I'm disappointed.

Mike and Tyler gave us everything we we looking for with our kitchen cabinets. They look great, installation was quick, their professionalism was obvious, they addressed our concerns. This crew was the best. We’re very happy with the whole Mad City experience, and the Mike and Tyler crew were the best! Well done Mad City!
