Dishonest, Disorganized, and Disappointing

I paid over $105,000 for a premium solar system that was supposed to include full property backup, two Tesla Powerwalls, and a SPAN panel. Despite multiple planning meetings with my Electrician and General Contractor they showed up and installed the wrong configuration... What I received was a split, mismatched setup that only backs up and monitors part of my property. The system was not what was promised, and their team only admitted the misconfiguration after I discovered it myself.

On top of NOT delivering what I paid for, I was also invoiced for work they didn't complete.

Please know that when a member of their sales staff comes to sell you a system they will tout a short install process, mine was supposed to be 5-7 days.... 141 days after they started was when my incorrect installation was "complete". They kept blaming Evergy for taking too long to install a meter. That happened because they installed a configuration that Evergy doesn't allow thus requiring additional approvals. In the end, all of the delays were caused as a result of their poor work.

They also have a troubling pattern of not paying their suppliers, leading to a lien threat for over $10,000 on my home from an unpaid supplier. I had already paid Astrawatt in full a month prior to the date shown on the unpaid invoice, so this was especially concerning.

Communication was sloppy, timelines were missed, and I’ve had to manage the project myself just to keep it on track.

Avoid this company at all costs. There are far more reputable and reliable solar providers out there.

I'm fully expecting a response to this review saying that they did in fact deliver what I ordered. Based on other reviews I've read that seems to be what they do when they mess up.

Oh where to begin. I’d say on a whole, their price was about the same as other quotes I got and the equipment was pretty much the same. Sales staff, engineering staff, and installers were all very knowledgeable.

Their organization SUCKS though. I got my quote in August and the system wasn’t turned on until FEBRUARY. Communication was non existent about what was happening and when or when my family would be without power. Installers treated my home like a job site and left things feeling unfinished; I took 5 contractor bags of trash to the dump myself and had to finish burying the last 12ft of cable myself. Because there is no system of quality checks or accountability in the org, no one has checked on the final product or how my system is working out.

If they aren’t cheaper than the other guys, and they are putting in about the same equipment, the only thing that differentiates one solar org from another is their service. In end, I wish I had chosen a different company and saved myself the headaches. I cannot recommend this place.

I recently had Astrawatt Solar install a battery system in my home. I could not be more pleased with the outcome!

Professional employees, who took the time to explain what was happening and allowed me to ask questions as they were working. After they were done, they not only cleaned up after themselves, but vacuumed the area and wiped down any dust. It actually look cleaner than when they started.

As I was visiting with the installers, I asked how long they had been with the company and was very pleased to hear of the tenure and experiences they had. They volunteered without me asking about how much they enjoyed working at Astrawatt Solar and the good people they worked with.

The team of Chris and Chris did a nice job installing the batteries, controller, and monitoring hardware as part of Evergy's pilot program. Critical circuits were moved to sub panel for backup. Very efficient and clean runs, well labeled, and cleaned up well once finished. Very pleased with their work.

Chris and Chris installed my backup battery system. Throughout the process they have been friendly, punctual and knowledgeable. They answered questions as I asked them and never gave me the impression that I was inconveniencing them.

They worked fast, were considerate of my time - asking before turning off the electricity so that I’d have time to save files and prepare to be without. They made sure they had everything ready to go so that the time without electricity was extremely short.

They were very conscientious of my home and the placement of the battery - leaving it as clean it cleaner than they found it.

The quoting process was transparent and easy to comprehend, clearly outlining the services offered. They provided an detailed timeline to completion and scheduled the delivery accordingly. Not only did they deliver as promised, but they also surpassed my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to receive upgraded panels and was impressed by their efforts to obtain a newly released gateway from California so that i could have the latest greatest equipment. This level of customer service is truly commendable. The installation crew demonstrated punctuality, politeness, and thoroughness. When I encountered an issue with one of the panels making noise, they promptly resolved the problem.

While there are numerous negative stories about solar companies, with many being unreliable and short-lived, Astrawatt stands out as an exception. They are a trustworthy and reliable company that I wholeheartedly recommend.

We had a difficult time finding a solar power company due to the complexity of our project, but we were so happy to get connected with the team at Astrawatt. From installation to continued maintenance, it has been a breeze. Desmond, Chris, and their crew were communicative, attentive to detail, and punctual. They left an extremely clean job site and high quality construction. Adam Houp has continued to impress with any ongoing any maintenance needs. We had an electrical issue in our inverter and Adam was there within hours to fix it. Couldn't ask for a better team! Would definitely recommend Astrawatt for any solar needs.

Astrawatt has been nothing but helpful and responsive through the entire process of our solar project. We were having a hard time finding a company who would accept the job of removing 37 panels from our roof, trench over 250ft and install them on a ground array in the back of the property. Desmond, Chris and his crew were punctual, knowledgeable and hard working. They completed this job in less than a week and had us back up and running immediately. This project happened in February of 2024 and a few months later we needed an upgraded Solar Edge inverter. Adam Houp handled this upgrade and made it happen in a timely manor. Fast forward five months, we had an issue in our junction box off of the inverter that killed our production for half a day. I reached out to Adam and he was there that same morning to fix it and get us up and running again. He has exceeded expectations twice now. I highly recommend Astrawatt for all your solar needs.
