Astar Heating & Air earns broad praise for skilled, professional service and clear communication, with some pricing concerns noted.
Homeowners consistently commend technicians for knowledge, thorough diagnostics, careful explanations, neat work, and courteous, reliable service. The company is seen as professional, responsive, and thorough, with strong ongoing support via Comfort Care contracts. Positive experiences include clean installations, fast response times, and clear communication about options and steps. However, a few reviews flag pricing concerns—perceived overcharging or flat-rate billing without itemized details—and at least one report of damage during replacement or delays in addressing post-service issues. Overall, Astar is viewed as high-quality, trustworthy, and worth the investment.

I had a great experience with Astar plumbing company. They are always reliable, professional, and very fast. Recently, they installed Cryotek antifreeze in my boiler to protect it from freezing temperatures, and they explained everything clearly. Kent Dalman and Brian Zekus did an excellent job — they were professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. Their work was clean, efficient, and done right the first time. It’s such a relief to have a company I can truly depend on. Highly recommend!

Gabriel was amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and flexible.
I knew I had a leak/burst pipe yesterday and tore the wall apart to uncover it. I thought the water was off to that zone of the hydronic heating system, but I was wrong. It was spilling untold gallons of water into my basement overnight. So I called a couple dozen companies as soon as I discovered the waterfall (which I fixed by turning off the other valve for that zone). AStar was the only one who was able to get someone out to me in a timely manner (and extra points for not having a stupid AI receptionist).
When he fixed my burst pipe and we started the boiler, we discovered ANOTHER leak a few feet down the loop. He fixed that too, same day. I'm going to request him in the future. It was fairly easy to get service scheduled.

The boiler stopped working right before the snow storm and we stood without heat or hot water for 24 hrs. Ryan, from Astar came out & repaired it at the earliest time possible. Thank god for Ryan he’s quick and knew the boiler issues we had in 2.8 seconds! Even the follow up was 1,2,3… I told Ryan welcome to the family because he just made us feel so comfortable and we knew our issues would be resolved fast!
Danny came out and found the issue in no time. He was honest and upfront no hidden agenda and told us what it was from the moment he came in to the house! He ultimately had to call in the big guys for a longevity solution!
Our heater was very much old and needed to be replaced … Jeff came out and help us save money and figure out the best solution and tried his very best to get us some heat asap!
Ricardo was up next, he came the very next morning (today) and got us some heat until the new unit gets installed! We could have gotten 30 beer box Joe but With Astar you have reliable, caring and honest people.

Matthew Feeney did an excellent job installing my uncle’s heating system. He was professional, kind, and extremely thorough throughout the entire process. He took the time to clearly explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find someone so knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend Matthew and am very grateful for his work.

Our boiler had been running nonstop and ended up heating our house to 77 degrees. Jordan was able to quickly diagnose there was a valve issue and pointed out several components that needed replacement including the pressure tank. Dimitri came to help on the repair and was also extremely knowledgeable and open to any questions we had. Jordan provided background on every part that needed replacing in granular detail prior to quoting service cost. Post repair Dimitri went on to explain the process and need to bleed the lines and provided background on our brand of boiler in detail. They also cleaned our unit thoroughly to the point it appears like an entirely different unit. Jordan and Dimitri are the utmost professionals and we are thankful for their service.

I will preface my review by stating that there is nothing wrong with the repair completed by the technician that came to my home. On Friday night (1/2/2026) I had a leak in the ceiling above my mechanical room. There is important equipment in that room including the HVAC system, hot water heater, and the water softening system.
We purchased the home in July of 2025 and the home is about 15 years old. I can see that there had been a previous repair in the ceiling because the sheetrock had been replaced. Once I pulled down that portion of sheetrock (approximately 2ft x 2ft) I can see an active leak in the red PEX hot water line. The line appeared to have been repaired at some point as the line had a brass coupling that joined the two pieces of PEX. The pieces of PEX were secured to the coupling using pinch clamps. It seems that clamp on the left had simply broken. As such, the hot water leaked from that tube. The problem was that the tube on the left was somewhat recessed and above a drain pipe. It was a tight space to work in. I tried to see if I could successfully engage a new pinch clamp as I have the proper tool. I just couldn’t get the proper angle. I went to Home Depot for ideas. They suggested something called a “Sharkbite” coupling but it leaked after I installed it.
I had turned of the water to my home. This was obviously a situation that couldn’t remain long-term. I called Astar. They had a technician there in under two hours. He took a look at the issue. He stated he would install a new piece of copper to join. the two pieces of PEX tubing together. His price quote…….,.$804.00 plus tax. I was floored. I reluctantly agreed. I needed the water on and I had family coming over later in the day. In the end, he used a piece of PEX tubing, a brass coupling on each end, and 4 pinch clamps to join the new PEX tubing to the existing. He was able to manipulate the existing tube and get a good enough angle to tighten the clamp. The actual repair took approximately 15 minutes and about $20.00 worth of materials.
While The job was done quickly and efficiently, I was so upset with myself for not getting it done myself. They followed up with a phone call this morning because I gave a neutral review. I explained that my review reflects the price, not the technician. They stated that they bill at a flat rate for a job. Excluding materials and set-up, they in essence worked at a rate of $700 per hour, which to me is simply a poor reflection of the business’s ethics. I have included pictures to better understand the scope of the repair. The picture with the white tube installed is the “After” picture.

Joe was really good today, his years of experience assured me that he knew exactly what he was doing. I felt comfortable with him in my house, he did his work clean, wore shoe covers, cleaned up, and got the job done.
Thank you so much for everything today!

I had a great experience with Astar Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning thanks to technician Jordan Devita. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain what he was doing in a way that was easy to understand and answered all of my questions without hesitation. He looked over my entire system and quickly diagnosed the problem then walked me through what steps would be necessary to make the repair. I appreciated his professionalism, attention to detail and dedication to helping the customer. Because of Jordan, I’ll absolutely continue using Astar and will be highly recommending them to others. And if you have the chance, ask for tech Jordan Devita; he takes pride in his work and will make sure you’re properly taken care of.
