Smart wave was great! They helped me through some complicated hurdles and we were able to get these panels installed in time for the tax credit deadline. Joel and his team were great and cheerful and respectful and it was all in all a great experience. Juliet was the project manager and I have no notes.

When it came to installing the solar panels, Justin and his team did a great job. They were respectful of us and our house. I highly recommend Smart Wave Solar!

Smartwave Solar left me with code violations, roof leaks, drywall damage, and cracked solar panels.
Shortly after installation on my 2-year-old home, I began experiencing roof leaks. I hired a third-party inspector who found cracked solar panels and clear code violations. The installers had cut and covered plumbing vents on the roof. Photos included.
When I raised the code issues, management cited IRC P3103.1.3 and claimed the work was compliant. I reviewed the cited code myself and the installation was clearly in violation. Again, photos included.
Smartwave later sent support to remove panels covering the plumbing vents. When I asked them to identify which vents were affected based on the original build plan, I discovered the system was not even installed according to the approved plans.
As a paying customer, I should not have to verify that a solar company installs systems to code, follows the plans, and doesn’t damage brand-new panels in the process.
Dealing with Smartwave has been a nightmare, and I would not recommend them.

From the beginning, Steve Michels was purely informative with not any pushing at all. No “last minute deals only today if you sign” kind of thing. I actually didn’t pull the trigger on this project for a few months and felt very comfortable making my decision and taking the time to ponder on the information I received. Max and his crew were awesome on the install! They were pleasant to work with and their work appears very well done! I’d recommend his crew any day.

My family purchased a solar energy system from Smart Wave Solar this summer. Our sales representative, STEVE did a great job explaining the options, decisions and costs associated with adding solar to our home. We are very grateful for his help. Fortunately, we added our system in time to take advantage of the federal Energy tax incentive. Our project coordinator, Joriel, kept us apprised of project status, including all on site visits, work, and inspections, as well as the process the company followed to obtain appropriate building permits for this project. As questions developed, Joriel was able to either answer or research and then answer each of them. For the last 2 1/2 months we’ve been generating energy with our beautiful new solar panels and storing energy in our new Tesla power wall three battery and expansion tank. It’s fun to use the Tesla monitoring app to see how our system is producing throughout the day.
We recommend this company for solar power products. We selected them only after receiving bids from four different companies.

Very good experience with Sarah, the Project Co-Ordinator and both the Salesman and the two installation crews! Sarah would call or text me about what was happening during the process. The salesman explained things nicely, like why I needed a "Critter Guard" (made sense after he explained it, and a neighbor said he wished his solar company had advised him before he got birds nesting in his panels!).
I had two different install crews (large install), the first was led by Justin Dunn, and the second consisted of Zach and Barret, both were excellent. They even caught undersized wiring being used in my existing box, and fixed that for me with no extra charge! They walked me thru what they planned on doing, and then showed me afterwards, explaining what each component did. I am a retired Technical Consultant, and kind of knew anyway, but must say, very nicely done! They knew their stuff!
If all their people are as excellent as the ones that did my installation, without a doubt, use them.
My Salesman, Randy Hansen even still answers questions for me to this day, and follows up long after we paid for the install! That is a real nice touch!
I have worked with a lot of Tech companies in my career, most good, a few bad, very few very good ones. A lot of the employees of these companies were still "learning the trade". SMART WAVE SOLAR was a very good experience for me and the people I dealt with really knew their stuff!
My 32 Panels and dual Tesla Power Wall 3 units are working well as I post this!
