Jimmy Shelton was excellent! Super knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process. He clearly explained everything and helped us choose the smart home plan that's already saving us money. We also love the peace of mind knowing we're protected from future rate hikes. Highly recommend working with Jimmy!

These guys are the real deal!! I have never been more impressed with a company in all my life! From the start Jimmy was so professional & patient with all our questions. They have an amazing front office staff that gives you weekly updates on your project. They were also $10,000 cheaper than the pre v vious idiots we started with. They even have their own finance company which was a huge bonus! But the most impressive thing they did was to pay off our energy bill! We were struggling financially that month, & needed to be in good standings with them in order to get our permit approved and not delay our install. Please please please give these guys a call if you’re even possibly considering solar!

We had a highly disappointing experience with Sun Solar and would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable solar installation.
While the initial panel installation was decent, the process took two weeks instead of the promised two days. After completion, we had a professional inspect their work, only to find multiple cracked panels. Sun Solar had to return to replace them, further delaying the project.
Once everything was supposedly finished, we soon discovered that our shop had no power. Since they had to dig a line for an inverter, I suspected they had cut it. After multiple attempts to get them to come back, they finally sent someone out who confirmed the line had been severed. However, it took another week or longer to get someone to fix it. Rather than a proper repair, they used whatever materials they had in their van, leaving us with a box sticking out of the ground from a rough splice job. Unsurprisingly, the connection failed within a few months, forcing me to fix it myself because I couldn’t afford to wait weeks or months for them to address it.
Beyond installation issues, the system’s performance has been abysmal. We were estimated to generate over 14,000 kWh per year, with at least 85% efficiency (over 12,000 kWh). Instead, we are receiving less than 6,000 kWh per year—less than HALF of what was promised. The result? We are paying for both electricity and solar panels with almost no financial benefit. A $90,000+ system that barely generates meaningful savings is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, our first bill was supposed to arrive after a year, but we never received one. They have our phone numbers, emails, and mailing address, yet we’ve had zero communication. At this point, I’d rather they just remove the system entirely. Why should we pay double for electricity and an underperforming solar system?
If Sun Solar actually fixes the system so that it produces what we paid for, we would be happy to pay. But until then, we refuse to pay for a system that generates less than half of the promised output.
Would not recommend Sun Solar unless you want endless delays, careless installation, and a solar system that doesn’t deliver.

We're really happy with our Sun Solar install at our home in Kansas City. Sun Solar is a great small business with high quality people. The installers were very professional, and I've had a good experience with customer service and sales. The system took a bit longer than expected to become operational, but that was mostly due to my electric company, which I believe dragged their feet in approving us to operate. I love the look of the panels on the house, which are barely noticeable from the street. Most people who come to our home say they didn't notice the panels at all. The system works great, even in the winter. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a reliable Solar Company in the greater KC area.

Our energy consultant, Quentin C., was incredibly helpful and informative, taking the time to answer all our questions thoroughly. He made the process easy to understand and ensured we had all the details needed to make an informed decision. Great professionalism and customer service!

I recently purchased a home with existing solar. We had two issues: (i) a panel was not working and (ii) I had to complete some documentation for Evergy in order to get up and running. Sun Solar (in particular Trixey) did a FANTASTIC job of coordination both fixes in an efficient manner. Just outstanding customer service! Highly recommend.

Quentin Crossley was a very pleasant man he did not force or make you feel like you had to buy the system. He made understanding the system and how it works easily for a person like me that doesn't understand technology. He also did not put any kind of pressure for me to buy this system. I'm very excited to get the system in and see how it works and I'm ready to reefer when I see how it works for me. VERY Professional service .

This company sucks! I thought they were to be able to see if something was faulty with my solar. I went since July w/o solar. They finally yesterday fixed it. Been freezing so as to not pay the 100$ electric bills I was paying not knowing my solar wasn't working. They won't reimburse me ANY money b/c it's past the 1 year in which I'm eligible for reimbursement. It wasn't MY fault the part was broken. Buyer, BEWARE!!!!!!!
