This company sucks! I thought they were to be able to see if something was faulty with my solar. I went since July w/o solar. They finally yesterday fixed it. Been freezing so as to not pay the 100$ electric bills I was paying not knowing my solar wasn't working. They won't reimburse me ANY money b/c it's past the 1 year in which I'm eligible for reimbursement. It wasn't MY fault the part was broken. Buyer, BEWARE!!!!!!!

Absolutely the worst company I've had to deal with in my life !!! My family has been waiting for almost a year for them to install our solar with no end in sight. We've had numerous technician's show up with no results I would be safe in saying 90 percent of them have no idea what they are doing and blame everything on the guys before them. Every time you call the main office you get the run around there as well. Just to give you an idea of what we have went through the last year. First everything seemed pretty legit about 4 hours into it that changed. They got the panels installed and run the wiring through my garden that I till every year. The wire was 4 to 6 inches deep which I cut on the first till of the season. Then they cut my waterline and said they fixed it but didn't and it ended up burning a two year old well pump up. And the water leak got into their wiring and shorted the entire system out . And the solar system has never worked a day and they are not even close to completing the job that we agreed upon. They will drive you nuts calling you until your paperwork goes through and then you will not hearing anything from them. I just got off the better business bureau page and seen where they have numerous complaints just like mine. Do your research on them , I wish I had

Ben was great I was ready to go solar a year ago but my wife was not on board with the idea. Ben talked to her and explained everything in a very detailed way that Linda understood everything. Ben is very knowledgeable about the Sun solar product and very easy to talk to and a very good listener. Ben is the reason we are Sun Solar owners

Sales and customer service were excellent. Although, the sales rep said it would be three months before first payment but the lender said it would be two months so perhaps there is a miscommunication between the two. In the end, this was no big deal for me but could be a problem for other customers.
The installation team was courteous and worked fast to get the system installed in one day. They assisted with setting up the Tesla monitoring app which was not something they were required to do so I appreciated the extra effort. However, despite a quick installation, the roof team left a lot of debris on the roof and failed to trim the aluminum mounting brackets in one place. This is where the customer service team comes in. They were apologetic and ensured a timely correction to these discrepancies and they also followed up with me to ask if I was satisfied. This gives me confidence that if something needs to be corrected under warranty that it will be handled properly.
The project coordinator worked closely with me to get all required documents signed and delivered to the appropriate agencies without delay. This resulted in an expedited approval of my solar system by the village government and the power utility.
The system is now online and operating great. The power output exceeds my expectations and the sales rep and project coordinator have continued to check in with me.
With all of this said, I would have given Sun Solar a rating of 4.5 stars, if possible.
Update: My Sun Solar sales rep, Kyler Brown, read my review and immediately apologized for the misinformation about the time period before first payment. This was an unpublished change by the lender and he is now updating his sales force accordingly so that this kind of error doesn’t occur again. Additionally, he said Sun Solar will cover our first payment to keep us on balance.
While there have been a couple of minor missteps during this process, Sun Solar has gone out of their way to correct the issues in a rapid manner and ensure we were nothing short of fully satisfied.
I am upgrading my review to 5 stars.

Our Solar Panels were installed today! Everything went great and the install team did an excellent job. Kyler Brown with Sun Solar has been awesome to work with! I was extremely hesitant to go through the whole process but Kyler laid everything out and created the perfect layout of panels that works for us. Just waiting on Ameren to give us the green light so we can go live!

I contracted Sun Solar on 07/03/2024 with Kyler Brown to install a 12kw system at my home. Kyler was friendly, professional, and thorough about the economics of installing solar at my home. I felt confident based on the company's track record and the information presented that this would be a good fit.
Bridgette Goff handled all of the permitting and net metering paperwork with my utility company, and within 3 weeks the system was ready for installation. The crew worked exceptionally hard in 100+ degree weather and I have nothing but great things to say about the professional quality of work they did.
The crew did have 1 mishap that required them to come back in order to get the system energized by the utility company, but they were out the same day as soon as they were made aware, and the system was energized by the utility the very next day. My system is now on and producing and I can see the production through my monitoring app. Sun Solar did a great job and Kyler always answers the phone or texts me back promptly with any questions/concerns I have. I would recommend Sun Solar without hesitation.

Sun Solar did an excellent job with our system installation, handling all the paperwork and coordination with the city making the process very smooth. Kyler was fantastic to work with. He always had immediate answers to my questions or quickly got back to me with the information I requested.

EDIT: I wanted to give everyone an update, I was able to get in contact with one of the Sr. Director of Operations John. John was able to make everything correct and has mended the waters between us and the company. Thank you to John Reynolds you saved us during a time in need.
I first want to say Avery Dohmen and David McKeown were awesome through the whole process! Avery and David kept us up to date on the whole process and what the next steps were that would happen!
Avery showed up at our house, to give us his sales pitch. At the time he did not know he was competing with two other companies, one was local to the Joplin area and the other was a national company that we were under contract with (thankfully able to get out of that with Avery’s help!) Avery stated he needed 30-45 minutes to sell us on his product. He arrived early and on time, he sold us with the benefits of solar and the perks of what you had to offer in a little under 20 minutes.
This next part is where the problem lies, the installers came to install the solar panels in a little under 30 days as we were quoted a 45-60 day wait for solar, the installers were awesome they worked in the heat of the day whenever we had the heat wave roll through at the beginning of June. I personally made sure they stayed hydrated and offered cold water and a dip in our pool at the end of the day! They finished around 5:30-6pm at night. I received a text from the installers that they had cleaned the ground and roof of all debris that they had caused. We were not at the house whenever they finished as we had to take my daughter to her cheerleading practice. Upon returning to our house around 7:30-7:45. I noticed debris was still on roof, so I retrieved a ladder and got up on the roof to keep it up l, thinking it was no big deal a couple butt splices and plastics! Upon further inspection of my roof, I found several broken and punctured shingles on the roof. I immediately informed David who was the project manager of these items that I had taken pictures and sent to him of the damage caused to our roof. It has since been 3 weeks with no response with an ops manager. I was going to them a 5 star review but after seeing damage and no response. I’ll provide an update once they reach out hopefully!

We had panels installed back in June and they still are not active. The electric company came out in august to switch them on but he couldn’t because they weren’t working. I have called, texted and verbally relayed the fact that something is wrong with our panels and they need to send someone out, I was completely ignored after being promised a call to schedule, only to have the electric company show up at my house TODAY to tell me they got the go ahead from sun solar and yet again he can’t turn them on because they aren’t working… because I was ignored. If you decide to go with sun solar and get Kyndal as your project manager, ask for a different project manager, absolutely appalling customer service if you can even call it that.
