Thornton & Grooms

I was a care club member for a whole year and it was a part of a service that I received with discount if I was a member. I did not use any of the yearly included checks that year. Then couple years later I realized there is also a monthly membership, I paid for the monthly to get my furnace checked, next month I was charged automatically, because I forgot to cancel. Therefore I wanted to at least take advantage of that and get my house’s drain checked also wanted to cancel my membership for next month. I had a call with company regarding that and had the worst experience with their club team. Very rude and she was telling me that they could have charged me with full service fee last month for furnace check if they knew that I am not full year member! My simple question was why do you have the monthly membership then?and also there is a statement on your website that you can cancel anytime! Am I stupid to think that I can pay monthly and get the same service and cancel anytime that I want? Otherwise I would be stupid guy who wants to pay 20$ per month and gets nothing in return! If the company think this is not fair, why do you give the option?!! There are other companies charging half the yearly membership fee, the reason your monthly membership worked for me was because I didn’t have to pay the full year membership! All this said to be fair to the company, I did receive good quality service and the people visited my house all decent and professional people who gave me good advice regarding maintenance and equipments. They spend enough time evaluating the situation and providing recommendations. I wish I was not this disappointed to post this negative review here.

Huge kudos goes out to Chad and Paul. They installed a tankless water heater in my home. They went above and beyond all expectations, which included going the extra mile by installing new fittings and lines that were not part of the original scope of work. Both Chad and Paul were friendly to me, and to my dogs as well. It was a big job and they got it done!

I called Thornton and Grooms for a routine drain snaking because their $99 pricing was clear and straightforward compared to some competitors. I also see their trucks around town frequently, which gave me confidence.

Scheduling was easy through their automated system and they were able to get me in the same day. The technician arrived on time, communicated well, and was respectful of the house. Before starting the snake, he took time to disconnect the line in the basement to identify where the slowdown was happening, then proceeded once he had localized the issue.

Unfortunately, the snaking did not resolve the problem. The technician clearly explained his findings and wrote them up for us. He offered a couple additional things he could try but was transparent that they only had about a 50/50 chance of success. Instead, he recommended having a specialist camera the line as the next step, which matched what we had seen in our own research. There was no pressure or scare tactics, just straightforward advice.

When I went to pay the $99, he said there was no charge because the blockage was not cleared. That was an integrity move. He spent over an hour working on the issue and it would have been reasonable to charge for the visit.

We are still deciding on next steps for this situation, but based on this experience Thornton and Grooms will be my first call if we need help again.

Highly recommend. Thorough, knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. They keep you informed and answer any questions you may have. They replaced my entire heating and cooling system the following day after I called (shout out to Kevin and Matthew). Then I had a drain issue with my laundry tub, and again, they fixed it the following day (shout out to Chad and Josh). I'm very happy with all the work. Very easy company to deal with.

Christian and Cody did an excellent job. Very professional in every way. If anyone needs any plumbing or heating and cooling products or service, I would strongly recommend Thornton and Grooms.

He was extremely knowledgeable and walked through each step of the process of what he was doing throughout his visit. Zach Bollman called approximately half an hour before his arrival as dispatch said he would. Zach was outgoing asking what our plumbing problem seemed to be. He described Thornton & Grooms mechanical system protection plans and pricing. Zach was careful to cover the bathroom tile surfaces and cabinets. I asked if I could watch him work, he said no problem. Tools were brought in and work began. Zach explained what he doing step by step answering my questions. Through the repair he was focused and professional. Once the drain was cleared, the system was checked for leaks and work area cleaned up. Paperwork and payment was electronically processed and Zach left for his next appointment. Payment was the price quoted. Thank you. I highly recommend Zach and Thornton & Grooms.

I would 100% recommend Thornton & Grooms for your HVAC installation. From making the appointment to the install of my furnace and A/C unit was 5 star service. I had my installation done in November 2025. It started out that I caught the furnace inspection deal so I can get my furnace checked out. Stephen C. came out to inspect my furnace and he was so very nice and knowledgeable and apologetic that he had to give me the bad news that I needed a new furnace. So, Brian M., the sales rep, came out and again very knowledgeable about the products they sell and very professional. Then Kevin C. and Matthew B. came out to do the install of the furnace and A/C unit. They were very professional. Kevin C. made sure he explained everything and if I had any questions to feel free to ask him. Kevin and Matthew cleaned their areas before they left. I had no complaints throughout the whole process. Thornton & Grooms sent texts and pictures of whom were coming to your home. From start to finish, the professionalism and courtesy from every member I had to encounter were EXCELLENT. I just had my city inspection done and everything was fine. I will definitely recommend Thornton & Grooms for your HVAC needs.

Nick , removed and reinstalled a toilet for us due to our flooring getting replaced. He also disconnected and reconnected our water line to our icemaker. He corrected the venting from our hot water heater. Nick also made sure our connection was to code. Nick was very thorough and knowledgeable. He had a great demeanor and was very professional and helpful. Nick definitely earned a 5 star rating. Thanks Nick!

Review for Mike Lilley, Thorton and Grooms technician. Mike was the most detailed and informative tech I have ever had in my home. Mike took his time to show me everything about my heating system and it's performance. Ultimately it was time to replace it. ( the unit was 21 years old). Without Mike's thorough inspection I would not have known how badly I needed a replacement.
Tequila , another representative of Thornton and Grooms was able to be scheduled the same day as Mike Lilly's visit to review and contract what heating system we would need to replace our old system. As with Mike she took the time cover all options and recommend what would be the best option. Tequila was knowledgeable, professional and had a great demeanor. Similar to Mike she knew what she was talking about. Tequila was able to schedule an installation of our new system the very next day. Thanks to Mike and Tequila.
John Torres and Jesse Smith showed up the very next day to install our new heating system. John and Jesse were professional and unbelievably talented and competent. They dismantled the old system and replaced it with the new one in 4 hrs. They were organized and left everything clean and neat John installed the smart monitor for the system and thoroughly explained how to use it.
I can't overstate how coordinated ,professional and knowledgeable this experience has been with Thornton and Grooms. What was very impressive was that they all spoke very highly of the Owners and their customer expectations. They all gave us the appearance that they enjoyed what they did and who they worked with. Very refreshing!!!!

Review for Jacob Priest: Jacob performed a complete and thorough examination of our plumbing. During his inspection he replaced our kitchen faucet and two toilet inner parts, which now work great. Jacob inspected all water lines, sump pump and hot water heater. He methodically reviewed each floor level. On our main floor he inspected all faucets ,showers and toilets.Jacob tested our water for chlorine, hardness etc.,very detailed and he took the time
to explain each finding. Afterward he gave us a summation of all his findings and a choice of what we would want to act on. His time spent with us was about 2 hours, his findings were comprehensive and very thorough. Jacob was a pleasure to work with. He had a very helpful attitude and approach. He definitely deserves a 5 star rating. Thornton and Grooms should be complemented for the quality of associates they employ. Thanks, Jacob!
