We contracted with ION Solar to install a solar system and battery backup on my house on 7/8/25. As of 1/7/25, the project has not been completed or energized. They have now no call/no showed 3 appointments to finish the work and energize the system. Despite my repeated attempts to keep the project moving and get the work completed, ION Solar has stopped responding to me. The box that is supposed to contain our solar meter has been covered with a sheet of cardboard for nearly a month now (pictured) because they have not come to complete the work or have it inspected. We are proceeding with a project abandonment complaint through NMRLD's Construction Industries Division, as well as with our financing company, and the guarantor of their surety bond in New Mexico.
I've had Ion Solar for a while now and im most likely gonna get rid of it. Ots constantly going out almost every month. I pay hundreds of dollars to PNM and the $84 for the solar panels. Everytime it goes out i have to pay $250 for them to come out and say everything is good and should be working only for a few weeks later it goes put again. I have waisted so much money when I'm supposed to be saving money. I pay at least $200+ a month yo PNM. Why am I paying so much if i have solar? Everytime i call and address this issue they just send someone out for the proce of $250 and nothing happens. It works for maybe a week and then it's put again.
Ion has been great to work with. They have kept us informed about where we are in the process every step of the way. Our panels are installed and all we are waiting on are the city and PNM inspections.
Do not come to our door when we have a sign. You guarantee we will never use you because of this. You are soliciting and trespassing. No matter how you word it. Homeowners are not stupid or falling for this “no we’re not soliciting, we are looking to lower lower your electricity bill.” Go away! Btw. We have big dogs, bats, and I’m a mean sob. I will not be nice!!!

Two stars off for post-sale customer service. There was an error in our sales contract. After multiple calls and emails (nearly all were ignored) over the last 3 months, I *think* it's being addressed/corrected.
If it actually gets corrected, I will change to a 4 star review.

We recently made the decision to install solar panels on our home and chose ION Solar as our installer. They were professional, communicated each step of the process, listened to us and followed up thoroughly. We could not be more pleased.
Same thing as posted below. A sales rep came by my door today and banged on the door and would not stop until I answered. It woke up my sleeping son who is sick and I was trying to console. When I did finally answer, the rep did not introduce himself as selling solar but as affiliated with PNM as though it was urgent and related to my current electricity. He kept asking me for my current electricity charges and acted offended that I didn’t want to tell him. Further, when he finally confirmed who he was and I said I wasn’t interested, he called me “weird.”
Had the sales rep by the name Nicholas bang on my door today. I have a sign that says No solicitation, Do not knock. I have three children and two under two. He didn’t ring the doorbell, instead banged on the glass window causing my child of special needs to be frantically disturbed. I followed him down the street where he rang the door bell to my neighbors house. I asked him for a business card and he refused and began covering his name tag to hid his name. This company hires indecent individuals and allows disrespectful behavior. When I called the number on google search it went straight to voicemail. Do not do business with companies that allow unethical practices.
Ion was very professional from the time we bought the system through the install all the way through the PTO.
