Moving on to the installation phase, the professionalism and skill of the installation team were evident. They arrived promptly and worked diligently to remove the old windows and install the new ones. Their attention to detail was commendable, ensuring a snug fit and proper sealing for energy efficiency. The team left no mess behind and were very friendly and open to answer any questions I had during the process.
The warranty also provided me with peace of mind, knowing that any unexpected problems would be handled promptly. Overall, the process of getting new windows installed was smooth, efficient, and resulted in a noticeable improvement in both the comfort and aesthetics of my home. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. If you are in need of new windows that will transform your home and space I would definitely recommend using Renewal by Anderson!
Things went downhill after the measurement. We were told that our windows would be ready in 12 weeks, and Jake would be out to install the windows at that time. We were contacted in January by an Anderson's representative who said the windows were slated to be in Anchorage on March 7th. When we received no call on or around March 7th, we called to check on their location and get information about our install, we were rudely told the windows were lost and they could not track them, and no one with their team would "ever give an estimated date of arrival" as that could not be determined. The windows were not available until 20+ weeks after ordering. Evidently they shipped from out of state, but never arrived in Anchorage, with no tracking available.
The windows were suddenly found in April, and we were asked about installing them that same week. Such short notice didn't work for us, so we made an appointment for two days the following week starting at 9 am.
At 8:50 am on the scheduled date of install, we received a call from Anderson's saying the installer was "running late," but would be there shortly. When no one had arrived at 10:30 am, we called to check in and were told the the installer "did not get on the plane" so he would not be able to install the windows today. Why were we not told that the installer was not even in the area, but rather lied to and told he would just be late? Why did we have to initiate the call to figure out where their staff was. Not a great way to build a report with clients.
They assured us that the installer would be out the next day after we spoke with management. 8:55 am the next day, we received another call from Anderson's saying the installer would not be able to come out again due to "unforseen circumstances," and there was no one else that could complete the job.
Frustrated over the multiple failed attempts and poor communication, we discussed the difficulty that this posed to our family as we had taken time off of work 2 days in a row, remove all blinds, and had to relocate 2 small children only to have none show up to complete the job. We requested to speak with the owners to discuss a price discount, and were told that this does not happen, but they could provide a gift card to the restaurant of our choice--which we still have never seen. We were also promised a call/email from the management or owner which never occurred.
Absolutely poor communication all around showing a true lack of professionalism from a company that supposedly prides itself in it's customer service.
Windows were finally installed on May 6-7, but resulted in sheetrock damage below the trim that I now need to repair. Not to mention the crew showed up 1.5 hours after the time we were promised they would arrive. The install crew did nothing to remedy the holes (see photos). This was noted on the inspection paperwork at the end of the install, and no one from the company has ever contacted us to discuss the remaining holes in the sheetrock outside of the trim.
Bottomline--Anderson's has poor communication all around and lacks professionalism. Their service falls completely short, and leaves us with more work to complete this job correctly. This should never happen with a job that cost over $14K for 3 windows. We were pleased with the initial pitch, but the remainder of the process was absolutely poor. We hope to inform future customers so they do not get blindsided by the remainder of the process as we did. Buyer beware. It's safe to say, I would not recommend Anderson's to friends or family in the future.
