Bill’s heating and air-conditioning replaced our furnace and left the exhaust venting into the house for almost a year. Thank God, we had a warm winter and this air was caught by a knowledgeable remodeling contractor in time, before the exhaust fumes cause harm or killed somebody in my house.
Even though the technician who came to fix the mistake was very kind and knowledgeable, nobody from bills has since taken the time to offer an explanation or an apology.
Given this is a life and safety issue, and it is clear that no checks and balances were in place to prevent this air, I cannot under any circumstances, recommend this company to anyone, and I would highly encourage North Idaho consumers to consider other options.

Called to get my furnace checked before the cold season. It was super old and needed to be replaced. They had financing available. I know nothing about these type of things. The person talked us through our options for repair or replacement. In a way that my limited knowledge could understand. With its age it made more sense for us to go with replacement. I felt no pressure just was told the facts and they gave me to space to think about it. They followed up with an install the next day. All the staff on the phones and the technicians that came out were friendly and understanding. Everything worked great after they left and our home was warm.
A while after the inspector came in and made his minor notes. Those notes were received and I got a phone call the same day to come and deal with it. The technicians were friendly and efficient and got things taken care of!
In some of the work our gas got shutoff to our hot water heater. We woke up the next day to no hot water. Me knowing nothing about these things I called them back and asked them about it. They said they understood and would be able to send someone out that day.
The again very nice technicians arrived and walked me through how to relight my pilot light and made sure everything was good. With no charge.
I feel like this company has my back. They responded to call on something they did not even work on.

James and Russ arrived on time and performed the install of our Hitachi mini-split unit. They were very efficient and the unit is operating perfectly. They thoroughly cleaned the area and replaced anything that was moved. Couldn't be more satisfied.

This past week I hired Bills to come out for a furnace tune up since ours did some short cycling over the tail end of winter. During a tune up, their website states that they do a detailed inspection, clean the furnace, and replace the filter, etc.
They came out, ran some tests, and told me my blower motor was dirty and that it was likely the cause of the short cycling. They said I needed an entirely new system.
When I asked about replacing the blower motor, they then told me they couldn’t find any blower motors for my unit which is a blatant lie. It’s a simple PSC motor and even I was able to find replacements. They reaffirmed that it was too “gunked up” and that I needed a new system.
They didn’t even clean any part of the system outside of the flame sensor. They left built up dust, debris, etc. all over the burner compartment and didn’t even suggest cleaning the blower motor as an option. They just took pictures of it. They didn’t even change the filter. The “technician” also went on and on about how our heat exchanger could be cracked and potentially leaking CO into the home. It cost me $130 for them to do essentially nothing but try to scare me into buying a new furnace from them.
After calling them back, they gave me a quote to clean the blower motor for $1740 or replace it for $2600. Absolutely ridiculous pricing. Just absurd.
I had Sturm come out to give me a second opinion. The person I spoke with on the phone at Sturm was very knowledgeable. They scheduled a tech to come out next day. They said our system was in excellent shape for its age and that there were no cracks in the heat exchanger. They inspected the rest of the system, tuned it up, AND cleaned the blower motor & other parts of the system(including the dust and debris in the burner compartment that bills didn’t bother to clean) for $400. Less than a 1/4th of the price that Bill’s quoted me. They said the motor was indeed dirty, but it looked much worse on the outside compared to the inside. They said we should have no problems with our furnace.
I’m not sure what’s happened to Bills. I used them in the past to install an AC and was happy with their service and price point, but I can’t recommend them anymore. Go with Sturm or anybody else. Don’t waste your money calling Bills unless you want to pay to get ripped off.

Bill's heating and cooling has gone way down hill. Got a mini split installed a year ago, that one is great. Got this one installed in the spring. Already caked in mold. Had them come out to clean it and now my mini split is bent. On top of that it no longer works. No cold air. I regret getting this system from them. Waste of money.

What a great experience I have had with Bills Heating and especially with Jeff F. And his assistant Bryce. They were both very professional and did outstanding work, leaving me very happy with my large investment of a heat pump system w/ 96% efficient gas furnace backup.
After they were done with their part, the 2 person electrical team arrived and being a former electrician myself, I can really appreciate the care and also highly professional install of the switch boxes and surge suppressors installed both indoor and outdoor. Even the city inspector that came the next day for the final inspection made comment about how clean and professional the install looks!! And yes of course it passed the inspection easily. Thank you Bills Heating for a great experience and installation.

From the initial consult and estimate to the day the crew showed up to replace our old system, the team was very personable and professional. They were great, knowledgeable people exhibiting great workmanship. From the people in the office, to the guys in the field, NOTHING was overlooked. Rob, our HVAC technician, really listened to us and set us up with a system that matched our needs as well as our budget. The install took about 4–5 hours and the finish work on the units was very clean with all wires and copper lines wrapped and taped up properly. The team really tidied up and left everything looking very clean and nice. Not a scrap left behind. I may sound like a commercial, but I truly believe that Bill's Heating and A/C has set the standard and are the best in their field. If I had to sum it all up in one word I guess that one word would be, WOW! Check 'em out. These guys did an awesome job. Patrick truly set this system up from start to finish with particular attention to detail. Gabe did really well setting up the outside unit and navigating the underbelly of my house. I forget the electrician's name probably because he was in and gone so fast pulling a new circuit and wiring. Even the state inspector recognized their quality work. All in all I highly recommend these guys and appreciate how they installed.
