Five Star Bath Solutions of Richmond

Five Star Bath built us a new shower - walls of Sentrel material, with matching tub surround - with custom-order shower doors to fit our corner design. They replaced all faucets, vanity lights and mirrors, and ceiling fan. In addition, they installed new luxury vinyl tile flooring over our existing ceramic tile. Our main team builders/installers, Dimas and Johnny, did a great job, and the end product is beautiful! Mike also did great work for the portion of the project that was his responsibility. Rob, the company owner, Jessica, our project manager, and Darren, the sales manager who initially visited our home, were all very helpful and responsive to our questions and concerns from beginning to end. We really appreciated their great design advice, which made our decision making much easier. In short, we are very pleased with the result -a beautiful new bathroom!

I don't normally leave reviews for anything but I've had a great experience with five star bathrooms through this whole process even though we ran into a couple hiccups they were immediately rectified. Mike and Johnny were my technicians and they were incredibly respectful and incredibly hard-working individuals and Mike took time out of his weekend to come over on a Sunday and help me wrap up things in my bathroom to complete the whole project and I've got nothing but good things to say about five star. Thank you guys and I would highly recommend anybody to use five star!

I recently had 5 Star come out to check on a shower they installed. I was concerned about the sealing of shower. I spoke with Jess on the phone, sent a couple photos, Jess verified my warranty, and had guys scheduled to take care of my concerns immediately. The technician James came on time, spoke with me about my concerns, (again very professional)recommended to reseal shower. Completed the task, answered all my questions, had cleaning and maintenance instructions emailed to me. Upon leaving we chatted a little bit and he reassured me of install, and said give us a call anytime you want us to come back out and maintain sealant. Very professional company and employees. I highly recommend them. Customer service was top shelf and that's hard to find. Thanks 5 Star Team!

We couldn’t be happier with the work done on our bathtub! The team was professional, efficient, and completed the full replacement in just two days. They showed up on time, kept everything clean and organized, and made sure every detail was perfect before finishing. The end result looks amazing and the quality of the installation shows. It’s such a relief to have workers who are both skilled and respectful of the home they’re working in. Highly recommend Five Star Bath Solutions!

We had a shower replacement/upgrade installed by Five Star Bath Solutions in Jan 2025. The finished shower is excellent. The reason we gave this company 3 stars is because of the wall damages/scratches and toilet mess left after installation was completed, and because of the fact that we received no follow-up calls or emails to inquire if we were satisfied with their work/performance. That is important when you hire professionals and spend over $11K. Since we did not receive a follow-up call/email, we question their Lifetime Transferable Warranty (which we had no reason to use in over 8 months). Or, if they value you for using their business. Their Lifetime Warranty did play a part in deciding to use this company. The wall scratches/damages do not show well after completion, and either the installer or the owner (who came by on the second day of our project to put a rush on our installer) used the toilet and left a horrible crap mess, like something you'd see in public restrooms. We had our door to our closet and toilet completely sealed off to control the spread of dust during installation, and we offered our installer the use of our hall bathroom for his needs. Our installer, Mike, was very talented, but he worked solo and that could explained the damages with him carrying the large and heavy glass doors and wall panels with no aid (we did offer our assistance). Darren and Jessica came across well to get your business. We recommend their installer whole heartedly. Their shower replacement cost is better than average.

Update: Equally, Rob, we would have been happy if your company matched the expected experience laid out to us by your sales consultant, Darren Hawker. We were good customers with your business. We aided Mike whenever he allowed. We gave him drinks regularly and offered to buy meals. We moved items out of his way for easier access. We treated every representative of Five Star Bath that we came in contact with upbeat courtesy. And, most importantly, we satisfied our balance as expected. There was no part of our initial consultation where we were told to contact your business for a follow up or to address any lingering surface issues. We were told what our experience would be and we correctly followed that plan and went beyond. Remember, the business owner came here and all of the scratches/damages were quite visible (our home was less than 3 1/2 years old at service and very well cared for).

VERY pleasant experience; from the sales team visiting to the actual work done. Our bathroom was completely redesigned, and the price was excellent comparable to others in the area. The bathroom design was completed swiftly, and I was highly impressed with the cleanup process. My house was not dusty or dirty in anyway. Hats off to our professional, Michael Young, who did an OUTSTANDING job. We are completely satisfied and would highly recommend this company and their staff. Thank you very much for a job completely professional from the staff to the install !!!!!

Excellent job in remodeling our bathroom. We are totally satisfied with the quality of the work and the efficiency of the team. James was absolutely superb! He was very receptive to our needs and desires, explained everything in detail and was a pleasure to be around. His ability to relate to the customer was simply wonderful. I also appreciated Rob's visits to ensure everything was going well.

I had a wonderful experience from Darren helping pick out designs and items to Jessica’s attention to setting up the project and inspecting after it was done. Dimos and his crew were friendly, talented and went above and beyond installing the bathroom. They even fixed the popcorn ceiling when I didn’t even ask. I highly recommend this company and would (and may) use again!

I’m disappointed to have to write this negative review but given a lack of response over the last two weeks to the “lifetime warranty” guaranteed, I’m hoping this review will generate a response from the company.

We had our primary bathroom redone back in the fall of 2024. While we were ultimately pleased with the end result, we were frustrated throughout the extended two month period it took for them to complete the bathroom by the lack of communication and responsiveness with the project manager. We were told that it would take about a week to complete and were very happy with the original crew they sent to do the demo work. Halfway through the week though, they changed the crew up on us due to scheduling issues and the crew that ultimately installed the new shower and flooring did a sloppy job (sliding doors that wouldn’t close, floor tiles that kept popping up in the corners, baseboards installed with visible nail holes and completely scuffed up and dirty) that required us to follow up multiple times over the next two months to get everything fixed to our satisfaction. Given that we were ultimately satisfied I didn’t feel compelled to write a negative review at the time.

Fast forward 8 months and we’ve noticed mold growing under the glue that secures the flooring to the sliding door and the shelves to the wall. We were promised the materials used would prevent mold, which was a selling point for using the company. My guess is the mold forming under the glue is due to yet another sloppy installation issue, where moisture was able to get underneath. For the last two weeks I’ve tried calling the number listed on Google to have someone come out and take a look. The woman who has answered the phone the three times I’ve called had told me she only schedules new inquiries but has sent two messages to the Richmond office, detailing my issues and asking someone to reach out in which they haven’t. The last time (third time in two weeks) I called she told me she was going to escalate my issue to the corporate office and now five days later I still have not received a follow up.

I’m hopeful the owner will see this review and follow up immediately but in the meantime I would urge folks to reconsider working with this company due to their continued issues with communication and follow-up, both during the installation process and now with a claim towards their lifetime warranty.

My (our) experience with Five Star was good. We had gotten 3 other quotes and Five Star beat them all. We meet with Jessica to discuss the details of their products as they pertain to our needs and how to best utilize the space in the existing bathroom. We had just bought a new toilet and an offset flange to allow more room for the new walk-in shower. As it turned out, they installed an offset flange for the shower. That should give you an idea of how old and poorly designed the old bathroom was. Mike Young did a very good job of demoing the old toilet and shower, and installing the new plumbing for the offset flange’s for the new toilet and shower.
I would highly recommend this team with their knowledge and consideration for individual needs.
