Tried calling ahead twice to see if a tool was available without a 40 minute drive, but the phone AI system just gave me the around. Both times I called it was asking for the sku #.

do not buy the flooring and installation through them. the least helpful people at this store and no one has any sense of urgency. i’ve called several times for my order status and two different people have told me that it’s arrived, but they’re not sure about when to schedule delivery, then I call the next day and they say it’s not there and they have no idea where it is and when it’s going to be there. They often say that they’ll call me and they never do; that that’s happened at least four times. Paid 15k for this job and it’s been nothing but a headache for me. Bummer

I really like Home Depot. It seems like they have anything you could possibly need for your DIY project. But I avoid shopping there whenever possible and I can't give them five stars due to the company's founders support of Trump and his homophobic and racist remarks. Don't believe me? Google it.

Damn! You could throw a bowling ball down every aisle of Home Depot and never hit an employee.
I think I lost about 2 pounds running around the store looking for someone to help me open up a cabinet to get a tool out.
Good for my physical health,, but not good for my mental health. Hire more people on the weekends,, please!

Usually don’t have problems with this location but after paying for expensive shipping, receiving badly stained/damaged boards, and then being told I couldn’t be helped unless I came into the store (inconvenient) UNLESS I had a pro account, which shows they totally could’ve helped me over the phone - I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Disappointing!

Clean store. The gentleman in the paint department was super helpful! The cashier was not super friendly and seemed to be having a bad day, but I was able to get in and put with what I needed quickly.

On the day before Thanksgiving 2024, I was visiting my elderly mother in AG, starting preparations for the feast and noticed that food in the freezer was defrosting. Broken frig. My mother insisted the replacement had to fit perfectly in the space and be white. She was not up to the trip to the store and anxious that I would get it wrong. I was anxious too! I went to Costco first. Nothing there was going to work and there was no one there to help. I went to Home Depot SLO. The selection there looked more promising but I was confused and overwhelmed. Employee Cami offered the help. She was wonderful. She helped me find the one frig (which was not on the floor) that I could order that would meet my mother’s requirements. She helped me get the best possible price. And then she told me where I could buy an inexpensive but high quality milk frother. I meant to write a review at the time but was distracted by the holidays. Cami, if you read this, my mom loves her fridge and l love the frother!

Called before going to check inventory on a bunch of blinds sizes I needed. John in the decor department picked up right away and was very helpful on the phone and really tried to make sure that he had everything in stock that I needed before I came to the store. When I arrived, he was late to go on his break however he tried unsuccessfully to get someone to cover for him and he ended up putting his break off until he made sure I was all taken care of. Great service! Thank you John!

Terrible experience. We stopped in to purchase a dishwasher (11/23). The website stated that the unit was in stock, which is why we went to SLO. The appliance rep who helped us, later in the process informed us that the unit was not in fact in stock and would be delivered 11/29. We wanted the unit by the holiday, but the "Black Friday" price was okay-ish so we kept with it. I asked the rep if I'd also get a Veterans Discount, he replied, if I was in the system. I was not, so he printed out the invoice (I suppose to make sure he got the credit, I dunno), and sent us to the customer service desk. The young man who helped us at CS seemed to need more training, though he was polite. I advised him why we were sent to the CS desk, he seemed a bit clueless, asked a woman who was walking by, who mumbled to the young gent why we were sent there. The young gent stated, it happens often. She then turned to me and stated that I would need to download the Home Depot App in order to use the military discount. I was a bit dumbfounded that I would need the app to get a military discount when my California DL clearly states VETERAN on it! She simply said, "that's the way it is," then walked away. The young gent (cashier Kyler) then stated that he would just mark the unit down $50, which was okay as that was just a bit less than what I would have saved via the 10% military discount. However, the system wouldn't let him mark it down, and I didn't have my cell on me to respond with the many one time passcodes being sent to it. Once I got home, I went to the HD website, signed in, and went through their process to verify my vet status. This is a silly process, especially if I have the endorsement on my DL, and folks do NOT need more nonsense apps. In the end, I was not given a discount. The app and the website systems did not reflect my purchase. I contacted CS via the HD app who verified the order, but could not find reason why it was not available to me. I didn't like the process, nor did I like not getting a military discount. So, I looked at Lowe's website, found a similar unit, lower price, and they are able to deliver by the holiday (11/27) or I could p/u in Santa Maria. Oh, and better yet, they honored their military discount even on a Black Friday Deal. I contacted HD customer service via phone, spoke to a Tabitha (polite) and cancelled the order. I'm still waiting on the confirmation email she stated I'd receive, and she stated it would take 3-5 days for credit. We shall see.
I didn't like the Home Deport process, and obviously their system is "suspect" at best. We don't shop there often as we like to support our smaller local hardware stores, but this experience will probably keep us from ever going there again.
