HomeSpec did an incredible job transforming our basement. They started by installing a sump pump and stabilizing our foundation, and they also repaved our jagged sidewalk from the driveway to the driveway, which made a huge visual difference right away. We loved the quality of the work so much that we had them come back several months later to take the project even further.

On the second visit, they installed BrightWall and waterproof vinyl flooring, and the space is absolutely gorgeous now. What used to be an unfinished basement is now a comfortable, welcoming area where we host parties, entertain, and spend time with family and friends. It has truly become our go to space for gatherings.

Dominick C. at Homespec was hands-down one of the best salesmen/project managers I’ve ever worked with. From the first visit, Dominick was honest, knowledgeable, and never tried to upsell or scare us into unnecessary work. He took the time to actually explain what was going on with our basement, what needed to be done, and what didn’t. He did such a through presentation and inspection that I actually understand why my basement is leaking and how his solutions is going to give me a permanent fix and not put a bandaid on the leaking basement.

What really stood out was his professionalism and transparency. He answered every question thoroughly, laid out our options clearly, and helped us make the right decision for our home and budget. The work itself was clean, efficient, and exactly as promised. No surprises, no pressure, no nonsense.

Happy with the entire experience working with HomeSpec. Investgated the issue and provided a reasonable estimate. Worked with me when I wanted to revise the scope. The actual installation of interior drainage and sump pump was smoother than expected. Took 2 1/2 days but the crew was prompt, communicated very well, and kept things clean considering the digging up and repairing of concrete.

I was apprehensive about this job, given that it's A. very expensive and B. sales, as an industry, has a history of deceitful practices and pushy tactics. Initially, I gave the salesman a budget of what I wanted to spend, understanding that the scope of the project would be smaller. He absolutely worked with me and gave me a number that was very reasonable. Over the next few weeks, we opted to expand to a full perimeter drain, and since we're finishing the basement we also added two egress windows (at time of review, it's too cold to do the work; I'll update once that gets done).

While the project did get more expensive than we initially thought, at no point did the salesman Ben act pushy or try to convince us of something we didn't need, which was extremely appreciated. The administrative staff also called to make sure we'd had a good experience with their salesperson, which I appreciated - like a home renovation version of a manager coming to your table in a restaurant!

Once we'd confirmed the project, we were scheduled about 6 weeks out. Instructions on how to prepare were very clear. The workers showed up at 8am on the dot on Monday, and the foreman Jerry was very professional and answered any question I had no problem. Alongside his team, Josh & Josh, they worked extremely efficiently and cleanly, completing my entire job in under 4 days, which included demolition of existing, old walls. Finally, because I mentioned we were planning to finish the space, the foreman made sure all of their cleanouts are far enough from the existing cinderblock walls that the new framed walls will not cover them, making them always accessible.

Really a phenomenal job; I am confident the egress window experience will be just as professional and high quality.

Horrible experience
We were scheduled to have our basement waterproofed from September 22 through September 25, 2025. The crew arrived and began work without reviewing the project plan with us beforehand. Once they started, we realized the drain for the sump pump was being directed into the front yard, which is a known flooding area. It makes little sense to pump water into a location already prone to excess water. We had understood that the discharge would be routed to the opposite side of the house, but by the time we noticed, the crew had already drilled into our brand new siding.

When we questioned the decision, the worker told us he was “just doing his job” and suggested that if flooding occurred in the spring, we could call to have the direction changed, an unacceptable response given the cost and scope of this project. Additionally, he was vaping during this discussion, which, along with similar behavior from other workers, struck us as very unprofessional. The man who was inevitable sent to fix their work spent an excessive amount of time smoking cigarettes in his van.

Upon completion, my husband inspected the work and marked several areas where the job had been done poorly. We have photos and videos documenting these issues, which we submitted. The work was deemed unacceptable, and a new technician was sent out on October 15–16 to correct the problems.

However, after those two days, he never returned. We received no communication regarding when he would be back, even though the project was still incomplete. delays, poor craftsmanship, and lack of communication.

I called on October 24th for an update and was informed that the job was still unresolved and that the technician had not provided any return date. I was later told he could come back on November 14th for one day only to finish the job. I expressed concern that one day would not be enough since the fix would extensive. They installed several drains that had caps that were intended to come off to be able to check and clear that were either filled with concrete or the lids were concreted over so we could not use them.

We are extremely disappointed with the quality of work, lack of professionalism, and the absence of follow-through,especially given the substantial amount we paid for this project.

Sent this email and concerns with instructions for management to call me. They did not follow that request (no surprise) called my husband to then say they could have a crew out the next day. They have yet to acknowledge or address any of the other concerns.

HomeSpec did a fantastic job! I had some rod holes I needed taken care of. One of them was even behind my electrical panels. They were able to get an electrician out to take care of it the next week in less than two hours. Mark was incredibly helpful and explained everything patiently, and Orlando did a great job with the installation and was very respectful. I will definitely call HomeSpec again for my next basement repair.

Jon and his partner did an awesome job! I overheard Jon emphasizing the importance of doing everything correctly and carefully as he was mentoring the other gentleman, and it was apparent that his encouragement was impactful. I feel very confident that we had the right people to do the job!

Sales was very accommodating to my budget and didn’t force me into an “all-or-nothing” job. They are willing to warranty just the work they do. They were also very detailed in their analysis, and simply more competitively priced than the other quotes we received.

The work itself was done exactly how and when they quoted it for. They were professional, courteous, communicative, flexible, meticulous, and wasted no time. Travis and his team clearly take pride in their work!

We had drainage system with a sump pump installed in our basement. It was a 3-day project. The crew was respectful of our property, worked well and efficient, and left our place clean. After I removed the plastic cover I there was a fine layer of dust, but that was to be expected. All in all it was a good experience.

Elon and I have been working together the last few years on getting my foundation sinking/crack issue resolved. I’m super pleased on how professional and knowledgeable he was and the patience he had with me. (Must’ve been out like 4 times….it was a big project and a tough pill to swallow.) The crew was also super knowledgeable and very thorough on the work being done and explaining. I’m an automotive technician and the work they’ve done and the way it’s done was super fascinating to see and understand. The crew was great, respectful, fast and honest. I would say with all the bad luck with contractors lately and me being very handy, this company really hit it out of the park. We’re so very glad we went with them and look forward to more work in the near future. Our home is supported, waterproofed and crack is sealed off and we’re not loosing sleep anymore. Thank you
