Hired in October 2023 to install a new furnace and AC system in our rural home. My family had been without heat for over two years due to limited service availability and financial hardship. Ideal Comfort was one of the few companies willing to finance and travel to our area. We made it very clear that we were limited financially and seeking a reliable heating solution before winter.
They charged us over $24,000 for a 3-ton, 14 SEER heat pump with an electric heat strip air handler—an amount that other contractors have since informed us exceeds typical installation costs for a comparable system. Included in this total was almost $3,000 for lodging and per diem for their installers to stay overnight in our area.
Although the contract included a limited one-year labor warranty, the core of our complaint is not just about expired warranty coverage—it is about a fundamentally flawed and grossly overpriced installation. When we attempted to use our air conditioning again in the summer of 2025, it failed. Upon contacting Ideal Comfort, we were told we were out of warranty and would have to pay out-of-pocket.
We then hired an independent technician, who found multiple serious issues with the original install. His findings included:
1. The price charged was at least double the standard market rate for this equipment and job scope.
2. The installation team failed to perform an adequate leak test, resulting in a braze seam leak that caused the refrigerant to fully escape within two years.
3. The electrical disconnect was not properly secured to the brick wall, posing safety concerns.
4. Despite the high cost, Ideal Comfort did not offer even a 10-year labor warranty, which is a common industry standard for installations of this magnitude.
5. We were forced to pay a new contractor upfront to diagnose and repair a system that should never have failed this early.
We acknowledge the limited warranty language in the contract, but a warranty does not excuse careless workmanship or unethical business practices. A company that charges premium prices should deliver premium service, and in this case, Ideal Comfort clearly did not. Their dismissive response when we reached out for help, combined with their inflated pricing, left us feeling exploited and abandoned.

Run!!!!….. Not very professional. Lack of experience, perhaps. My installation was wrong from the beginning, and they didn't respond because the company was sold to another, but it probably is just an excuse for so many customers that are not pleased with the service.

Mike and new owners Kelsey terrible services. After spending $30,000 on a new DAIKIN system of AC and Heating dual units 6-mini split installation with 4 Condensators, the company could never run the units without finding a leak. I was very nice for 2 years, and now that the company is sold for the second time and not responding, I have four units that are not working. @Daikin waste of time and money. I will update the post when I now the new name of the company that also is not responsible for the work I believe is something like “Plus Heating and Cooling”

I am 100% satisfied with my experience with Ideal Comfort! There will always be a back-and-forth when negotiating terms and researching the product, or a missed email or call when it is a big job and so many people are involved. The folks at Ideal Comfort are human! Give them some grace and keep following-up if necessary. Ben was excellent at answering all my questions and he was present on the day of the install. The installers were nice, neat and professional, and quickly corrected a mistake they made without hesitation. The product is high-quality and working as expected 3 months in. And then Sarah managed the rebate process (I literally did nothing but answer a few of her questions) and I got a check in the mail from Xcel! I highly recommend this company and would use them again.

Hi everyone,
If you would like to support a local business and you are in need to replace your AC & furnace units. Ideal Comfort company did a great job replacing my AC & furnace. The communication was on time, they complete the job in one day, no hidden fees. They installed the unit brand I wanted. So far, the AC unit is working great under 90+ degrees we have had.
Michael and his team are respectful and very professional. In addition, they have affordable and reasonable prices.
I had a good experience with my AC project with Ideal Comfort.
Thank you!

Would not recommend. We had a below average experience with this company. Poor communication and follow up from service. Never received a quote on repairs that were needed until after they were done. Never received a quote for additional services that were needed to get our A/C back running. We did reach out to them with the following:
At the first visit, our tech (who was at all times polite and professional) was able to get the AC running by replacing a capacitor. According to the tech that eventually finished our repairs, the replacement capacitor that was installed appeared to be used. I hope that is not the case.
On the second visit, the Ideal tech correctly identified that the evaporator fan motor needed to be replaced. He did not have one in stock and said we would receive a quote for a replacement. He left knowing that the AC was not functional but we never received a call or quote from your office (heading into the hottest weekend in July). We called a relative who is also a tech who managed to help us find a fan motor and get installed that same evening.
As to the freon access valve issue, I still don't understand what happened. The operation of the access valve had nothing to do with the needed repairs (capacitor + fan motor). To be clear - I'm not accusing the tech of anything here; he did the best he could in the situation, and he was courteous and hard working throughout the visit. But I don't know why it was ever touched in the first place. Everyone I have asked says that these schrader valves do not spontaneously break. Finally, the solution that was proposed (complete replacement of the access valve assembly) was not necessary. My tech relative was able to configure a permanent solution by capping the access valve with a "y" valve to stop the leak and allow for future access if needed. Again, we never received the formal quote for the solution proposed by Ideal, perhaps for the best.
I understand it's a tough season and your people are stretched thin. I understand this was a difficult call. Nonethess, I feel it important to share feedback on things I would want to know if it were my business. At the end of the day, the lack of followup was most disappointing, especially since Ideal knew when the tech left we were without AC. No one ever called with the quote to fix it, or to check and see if our service was restored. I do still have the brass schrader tool belonging to the tech at my house; he is welcome to pick it up anytime.
We received a bill from Ideal for $701 for the original services. When they they never had followed-up about getting our A/C running.
Yes, we did receive a message back from the company after reaching out to them. It just stated they dropped the ball.

We had an emergency with our motor blower which caused us to shut down our AC in 90+ heat. We have twin newborns and had an uncomfortably warm house and we're very concerned. I called and scheduled with Ideal to have a tech come out the following morning at 10am. Nobody showed up, and I called back to confirm, and was told the tech would be over between 1-3pm. Still nobody showed up, so I called again at 4pm. Eventually the tech came over at 6pm. After about 20 minutes he left and said nothing could be done until a special bracket was ordered from the supplier to install the blower motor. I went downstairs to find my furnace dissembled with wires exposed and parts all over the floor. Completely inexcusable. I hired another HVAC contractor who cleaned up his mess and charged me half the price to get my AC up and running. I will not use this company in the future, and do not recommend them.

"Focused On Service With Integrity"
It is a beautiful thing when a team lives up to the statement on the front page of their website. As someone who lacks experience in HVAC, it can be an absolute headache trusting someone on the install of a decently expensive (not unfairly priced) piece of equipment. I had the pleasure of working with Ben. His diligent initial assessment, honest and quick communication, interest in completing an aesthetically pleasing install, and willingness to add context, left me extremely comfortable working with Ideal.
For prospective customers reading this, I received three other quotes and Ideal's quote was right in the mix. At that point, I deferred to my gut and I have not regretted it.

Steve came to our house this morning to check our furnace, and he did a more thorough job than we have ever had done before. Kudos to Steve and Ideal Comfort!
