PEG Energy delivers solid solar installs with responsive staff, but struggles with communication and project delays.
Overall, homeowner sentiment is mixed: many customers praise PEG Energy for knowledgeable installers, helpful reps, clear explanations, and real energy savings, with several noting prompt responses and ongoing post-install support. However, a substantial number report communication gaps, scheduling delays, and project mismanagement, including unreturned questions and vague timelines. Several installations allegedly caused property damage or left work unfinished, and questions about licensing and city inspections remained unresolved. Battery backorders and unexpected charges also recur, tempering enthusiasm. When PEG Energy resolves these concerns, customers rate them highly; the core value remains strong but execution needs consistency.

I am so happy with the service Peg Energy has provided at my home. Their excellent customer service made me feel comfortable in moving forward with solar panels. The staff guided me step by step to set up the app on my phone. I highly recommend them to all my family and friends. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I want to highlight my experience so far with this company, local to where I live (with this, you would think it would be faster to get the installation done)
I'd like to say that Mr. Lira did a fantastic job in July. All questions were answered, and he went above and beyond to get us started with the process. Kudos to Mr. Lira. That being said, the rest of the process has been an unprofessional nightmare. I'm not sure who the project manager is, and to this day, I still don’t know who it is, but there is very little communication with said person.
The solar pergola welding team that installed the metal beams left a mess in our property, with items scattered throughout the yard and bottles littered everywhere.
And then here comes the worst part of the unfinished project so far. The solar panels have been sitting, not producing any energy for my house, for almost 2 months. On September 8th, techs were scheduled to install one inverter. On Monday, I got a text that they could not make it. Which is reasonable when asked when the next scheduled time they would come, they said, “Let me check with Scheduling”. I didn’t get a response at all. I had to request an update on the 11th, to which a response came in: “Morning, I'm very sorry, let me check with scheduling”. I waited to see if any response would come in, but I didn’t get anything, so I asked for an update on September 12th, but I did not receive any update. At this point, I started waiting and waiting for two weeks, and that’s when I started calling. I requested a supervisor from the receptionist, but was never transferred to a rep. I always got the same line, “I'm sorry, they are in a meeting.” This line was used every time I called, regardless of whether it was in the morning, midday, or the afternoon. Then I got a text that their boss tried calling me, to which I had no call ever recorded (I was using my phone throughout the day). It took me having to tell them that I would report them to the BBB, Texas attorney general consumer protection division, the news, or anyone, and finally, I got someone to install the missing two inverters on September 24th. To this day, I am still waiting on the next step (assuming they have to connect it to the house grid), but I have not received any communication from anyone at the time. It is sad that it’s a local company, but it's not like they are from out of town.
To conclude.
Mr. Lira gets a 5 ***** rating; the rest of the company receives a 0***** star. Due to Google having to add a star, I will add just one. This single star goes to your great sales rep. Hope to hear soon because this has been an abysmal experience

Their response is totally incorrect and they were provided with the necessary information regarding city inspections on September 9th. The charger was installed Sept 23rd and PEG was provided with the city’s Waiver for Inspection to AEP. And I would like to see the installers proof of certification!
This has been a very challenging and frustrating experience. There is very little communication w PEG. Calls and messages are not returned. The crew that showed up to install my EV charger were not licensed electricians. They did not turn on the power to my charger. There was a language barrier which led them having to their supervisor to answer our questions. The individual on the phone was not familiar with the next steps. Instead of having a licensed electrician on site to inspect the installation I now have to wait another week before having the power to the EV charger. Instead no way would I recommend anyone doing business with PEG!
Hi P Connor,
We’re sorry for the frustration. The charger was installed two days ago, but it hasn’t been turned on yet because it needs to pass the city inspection first - we’re actively coordinating with the city on the date.
Since you inquired through QMerit, all installers are verified for proper licensing and background checks. A licensed electrician will inspect the installation as part of the city process to ensure everything is safe and compliant.
We appreciate your patience and are here to answer any questions while we get your charger fully operational.
Thank you!

Bill came in extremely high so I called PEG energy and was told that our panels only produced $1 worth of energy for that month. I asked why, they then said they’ll need to check into it. When I asked why didn’t they notice they said they have too many clients and it’s impossible for them to know unless we notify them. Why don’t they have a system that notifies them that one of their clients panels is down and not working? Also, the lady who answered said for me to send her the bill so she can review but stopped responding once I sent it to her, so now I need to follow up again on Monday. I honestly do not recommend them & they genuinely need to focus on their customer service. Personally wish we wouldn’t have made this purchase . Not worth the “savings”, at least for us.

I am not sure why some clients have complaints, as my experience with Peg Energy has been exceptional. I recently had a pergola installed for my solar panels, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I look forward to saving on my electricity costs.
The technicians who worked on my project were highly knowledgeable and took the time to explain each step of the process. Most importantly, they listened to my concerns. Since I have two dogs, they were diligent in ensuring no debris was left behind, prioritizing both safety and cleanliness. Thank you to all Peg Energy Employees and Tech
I am extremely satisfied with Peg Energy’s service and highly recommend them to anyone considering a solar energy system.

Everyone at PEG is fantastic. The whole experience was fast, easy, and painless. They will treat you with honesty and respect. My system generated over 2250 kWh in the first month, a bit more than predicted.

Called over 1 month ago to report a non-working panel. Had immense difficulty initially getting ahold of someone to report, reception sent me to voicemail and when I called back requesting to speak to someone in person, the representative asked someone beside them who said, "I'm busy," but was told a work order was being placed for my property,
1 month later, called to inquire as to the status of my appointment, meanwhile being charged for not only my panels but KW usage from my light company. Extremely rude, told they very busy and would get to me in the order of my appointment. Biggest regret of my life going to PEG. I have leaks in my roof after the installation of the panels that I never had before and my light bill in combination with my solar panel financing is the same as what a light bill without the panels would have been, more so because at least with a light company I could have received a free night and weekend bundle or other beneficial deal!
They are rude and unreceptive now that I am legally obligated to fulfill my 20 year financial obligation. Would not recommend them to anyone!

I hired this company to install the solar panels for my home. While they were installing the panels an employee of theirs had an work injury. This employee sued me cause he was working on my home remember he was an employee for peg energy. Had to hire and attorney to settle for a very large amount of money and also had to pay peg energy their full amount. So be careful. If you want I can post the text messages with Alvaro and Ignacio Guajardo. I can also post the lawsuit. Thank you

I bought solar panels from PEG energy because of a recommendation, yet all I have experienced is the run around. I bought a battery for my solar panels almost two years ago and according to PEG energy it’s on back order. I was never told that the battery wasn’t installed nor was I told that it was on back order until an indefinite time. Don’t do business with these people! Their technicians left holes in my home that were unnecessary. I was promised a cash from Richard, their general manager, two months ago and I still haven’t heard from him. Very unprofessional and unethical company.

Richard was amazing . He was well versed with the products offered and was able to get additional information from the installation team if he didn’t have the info . He also gave good post installation service and that’s the most important thing customers want from solar installers and PEG energy and Richard specifically do this really well .Would highly recommend.
