Sun Solar is mostly praised for knowledgeable staff, seamless paperwork, and strong savings, but reliability and communication issues appear in a subset of installs.
Reviews consistently highlight Sun Solar's knowledgeable sales team and thorough, end-to-end handling of permitting, inspections, and paperwork. Customers report real savings when the system is up and running, and praise installation crews for efficiency and quality equipment. Positive feedback often centers on responsive project coordinators and timely updates. However, recurring concerns include inverter reliability issues, scheduling delays, and gaps in post-install communication. A few installations caused roof damage or debris, and some note miscommunication about payment timing. Overall, Sun Solar delivers strong value with some reliability and service gaps to address.

I been talking to Rob today from Sun solar that is VERY professional and VERY knowledgeable when it comes to solar. Rob is doing EVERYTHING in his power to help me obtain an awesome solar system due to me being on a fixed income. Rob definitely goes the extra mile for his potential clients. If anyone is thinking about going solar, ROB IS DEFINITELY YOUR MAN to contact at Sun Solar. Thanks Rob...

Met with the sales rep and was so excited. Thought we were doing our part for the Earth and saving money. Now at least 3 yrs in and am paying $248 per month for solar panels and $100-200 electric bill which exceeds the highest electric bill I’ve ever paid in our large home. Never received any paper work from Sun Solar so I don’t know exactly where I stand with them any more. They do continue to take out $250 per month for the solar panels. I give Sun Solar credit for customer service because even though I haven’t been the easiest customer to deal with over our phone calls and emails, they have actually responded to me within a respectable amount of time. We have discussed usage and banking Solar power and my usage has increased. You have to take a lot of things into consideration before making a final judgement on who to blame for the increase in electric bills. Will have to continue monitoring a little longer.

Absolutely the worst company to work with. They do not keep their warranty. The mount has come out of the ground, installed improperly and is not generating properly. Our bill has gone from $70 to $300-$700 a month due to solar panels touching ground and not facing up enough to get optimal sunlight. For 8 months we have been waiting for Sun Solar to just call us back. We call weekly and the little gal who answers tells us no one is available but she will do her best to have someone call us back. And we wait. Not worth the money and don’t expect them to warranty their work!

UPDATE: Maybe the worse decision I’ve made recently. I really hate leaving bad reviews but I need to. I’m not sure where to begin because of all the issues. My install took over a month and finally might be functioning. When I call to complain I keep getting the same person and they transfer me to the same person and nothing gets done. Everyone is very friendly but it feels like a run around. I did talk to a lawyer about my options. I know a bunch of people with solar and they all love it. I feel like choosing Sun Solar for my solar system was a bad decision. After a few weeks of low performance a crew was at the house for the third time and finally has it making power. Not sure yet if it’s what it’s supposed to make but better than it was. 2 weeks of making power and now the system is down completely and not making power. Part may take 2 weeks to get in. Can’t make up all the headaches with this decision.

Sun Solar has been easy to work with. I have two jobs with fluctuations in my hours so scheduling was difficult, but they were super flexible and worked with me. Special shout out to Rob Gunn. He talked me through the options, answered my questions, and not once did it feel like he was trying to pressure me into going solar. He asked about why I wanted solar and kept the conversation focused on helping me achieve those goals.

My wife and I were planning on having our first child and thought solar would be a great investment financially with the rising cost of utilities.
Met with Kyler Brown and he explained the benefits of going solar. He is a great representative helping us decide out needs and being there to help us with the installation process. With the rising cost of electricity we are glad we pulled the trigger when we did.
Thank you sun solar team.

I researched Sun Solar and thought I found a good solid company but I am starting to doubt the equipment this company uses.
My brand new system has been on my roof for nearly a month and it has produced exactly half a days worth of of power. While the people at Sun Solar have been kind and courteous the fact remains my system (mostly likely the Tesla Solar Inverter) does not work correctly. The system - again likely the Inverter - appears to have a problem coming back on line after its been offline over night. It took three tries to get the system to pass the Liberty Utilities witness test because the inverter needed to be reset by Sun Solar and now after only half a day of collecting sunlight the system failed to operate the next morning.
This is the fourth time I've had to contact Sun Solar to get them to reset the inverter on a brand new $28,000 system and of course they are closed on the weekend so now I have to wait until Monday.
I have tried to be reasonable about this but at this point it is beyond frustrating and is totally unacceptable.

I bought a solar system from Sun Solar and it was installed in December of 2025. The whole process from the paperwork to installation was seamless. The install crew came out on a Monday and installed the system and the next Monday City Utilities came out and gave me permission to operate. Since that day my system has been working perfectly and I look at my Tesla app almost daily to see how much free electric I am making.
I received my first electric bill yesterday since installing solar and for the 22 days of the billing cycle that I had solar, my bill was -$4.10.
10/10 would recommend going solar with Sun Solar and their team.

Well time to share my experience. The consultation and install were great Kyler and the installers were great. My issue is. After my power company came out and gave the OK is when everything went south. Since that day the system hasn’t even kicked on. Had a tech come out and looked and said it’s a “ground fault” said they would be out the next day to fix. And nothing. Texted both and got no response. No update. No explanation.. got a 54,000 dollar system rated for 11.5kw but got a 54,000 system that generates 0kw.

So far, everything is great! My sales rep, Rob Gunn, did a great job setting me up with a nice system. What I appreciated most was his honesty. He let me know what fees I could still expect from the electric company, and never pressured me to make quick decisions. The communication between the office people and the rest of their staff could use a bit of improving other then that Rob Gunn did great job.
