We signed a contract with Miguel Hernandez owner of Yuri Roofing to build a building for us. He started out with a crew which quickly turned into just him & his son. Then one day did not show up, never called, texted or anything and never has been back. Leaving us w/a 1/3 built building, a mess of a job, and $$$ less. He got ½ the $$$ up from & then came the “I need more $$$ for supplies” we ended up giving him about ¾ the of the contract price. I know shame on us. What burns me is I ask Miguel Hernandez if he was going to complete this job. He said and I quote “of course, I am a man of God, I keep my word” He said he is a minister also. Well shame on you Miguel Hernandez. Doesn’t your good Bible say “Thou shall not steal” (No robarás)!!!!! Take hard earned money from seniors and not having any intention to finishing the job. Shame on you Miguel Angel Hernandez!

Review:
Unfortunately, my experience echoes that of a few other users on this page and more unfortunately still, I only came across this page when it was too late (of course I did!)
I hired Yire’s to carry out a painting and wall repair project, a copy of whose contract I am uploading as evidence of my interaction. The company made a bid of $10,000-somewhere in the middle of the eight bids I received at the time-and began work promptly. Several days later, however, they simply left without an explanation and-yes-without returning the keys or parking permit.
It took me weeks (yes, WEEKS) of trying to get in touch and, once I did, Luis Montenegro who works for the owner, Miguel Angel Hernandez, responded that the project would cost more (without stating how much more). When I pressed for a partial refund, Miguel Angel Hernandez simply responded with a curt “no es posible” (how charming Spanish is!)
As evidence of my claim, I am uploading the contract, edited to include what was completed and to what extent. I should note that the bulk of the assignment was the painting of the walls and ceilings as well as remedial action of the closet, neither of which was addressed. And therefore, while it may appear that they did some 25% of the work (one out of 12 items complete with another four out of 12 partially complete), the fact is that only the preparatory items were even begun.
In addition to the contract, I am also including the cashier’s cheque paid as a 50% deposit.
Separate to this Yelp review, I recently began assembling paperwork to bring to light some of this company’s behaviour. While conducting some rudimentary research, I uncovered a number of details which I believe should be noted in pubic. These are as follows:
1) Suspended License: Yire’s license was suspended on January 15th, 2021 – the date that their insurance expired and was not renewed. This means that all the work they have performed, including that in my own building, and which is being carried out as of the date of this note is being done illegally.
2) Lack of Insurance: Yire’s cancelled their insurance policy twice: first on June 4th, 2019 and then again January 15th, 2021. I will not conjecture on the reasoning but will point out that in the event that a worker is injured or killed during construction, the client may be held liable.
3) Lack of Bond: As they did with insurance, Yire’s cancelled their bond policy on May 15th, 2021. Without a bond, it is difficult to sue the company for fraud, poor workmanship, etc.
4) Unpaid taxes: the Washington L&I page indicates that the company owes $109,945.36 for 2019. During my interactions with them, they insisted on cash which leads me to wonder whether the tax infractions have not continued since 2019.
I am uploading a copy of three (3) items as part of this review to support my claims.
1:
Public records indicating that Yire’s license has been suspended since January 15th, 2021.
2:
Public records indicating that against Washington law, Yire’s has been operating without a bond, exposing clients to financial and legal risk.

Hires Yire’s for a roofing repair job & gen contractor for a new building job. He walked off the job after taking 75% of the money. Shame on us. Miguel did not manage his end of the 50% down & we realized the cost of materials went up. Never blinked an eye when he need us to pay for materials or he needed more money. We were on a time line and I ask him if he was going to finish up this job. He said “I am a man of my word. Yes I will”. Well this man of his word and man of God as he told Ilya he was walked away and never looked back. Left us w/a ½ built building. We had to have all the electrical & plumbing redone. Thanks for keeping your word, Miguel Hernandez. I’m oh by the way Miguel. The roofing repair job on our house you had Lewis do is leaking. Thanks for nothing. Guess you need ti have a chat w/your god.

We are very impressed with everything about Yires! I'm so grateful we had them do our roof replacement and it turned out beautiful! I'm an old roofer, too old to do my own roof so when I say they did an impressive job, I do know what I'm talking about. I first met Dana who is the project manager and a lot more than that. She had everything delivered on time, and ready for the two hard working roofers, Emmanuel and Eduardo. Man, those guys know what they're doing and they do it unbelievably well! They worked so hard but even more, they were so consciences about doing everything right as if it was their own roof. They did beyond what I expected! I met the owners Miguel and his wife when he came over and measured and checked out the roof. They are very decent people and soon after he checked out the roof, I got a call from Dana with a very good price. Oh, I can't forget about Luis, he came over and checked out the project and dropped off some materials and yes, another great person and asset to the company. Seriously, I can't say enough good about the Yires company which is made up of some of the best people I've ever met! Thank you everyone at Yires for our beautiful roof! You all ROCK!
