Don’t buy Culligan! I bought their overly expensive well water softener system 7 years ago. Then they charged over $300 one year later for routine maintenance. After what I watched what the tech did, I told them to come every other year. I suspected the salt run-off killed my nearby tree. I asked the tech if the salt runoff caused it, and he couldn’t answer. By 2026 they wanted $600 per maintenance trip and I said no. Over the past few years, my salt usage has gone up to almost 30 bags a year. Their philosophy is to maximize prices and charges. There are plenty of other providers that charge less for the new system, and don’t require annual maintenance.

I had an ancient system in my house we bought a year ago. The system was not used for over a decade (maybe 2) and it started leaking slowly. I called after hours one night after a very rough day and reached a technician (Ken) who very calmly explained what to do in a few minutes. Solution worked instantly. I had already committed to removing the system and because of that experience, I asked for service to disconnect and bypass the system I could remove it. Keep in mind, I wasn't starting service. I was getting rid of the system installed over 26 years ago. Because of Ken, I called back. 1 week later, another technician, Bob showed up today on time, and was the nicest guy, just like Ken, and took care of it quickly. Two truly great experiences. If you are considering getting a system installed or maintained, look no further! Outstanding people. In this day and age, I never would have expected this sort of quality and care - understanding that I was NOT looking for a new system or repair. Outstanding service and I salute Culligan of Dover for the wonderful people they employ. I missed mention of the customer service rep with whom I scheduled and confirmed the appointment. Please accept this sincere well done and my thanks!!!!!!!
