Best of: Red, White, and Blue Decor

With Independence Day coming up at the end of this week—and with all of the excitement from the World Cup!—we’ve been thinking about good old-fashioned American red, white, and blue decor. Whether you’re thinking about temporary decorations for your 4th of July backyard barbecue or planning on outfitting a patriotic room on a more permanent basis,  get inspired by this round up of our favorite red, white, and blue decor.

The flag acts as the perfect focal point in this American themed kids’ bedroom by designer Susan Kasler and architect William T. Baker.

We’re not sure what we love more here: the huge, vintage looking American flag here that acts as a bold focal point in the room, the white wood paneling, or the fun blue ceiling. This is a great example of classic, tastefully done American-themed decor, and it’s a sophisticated kids’ bedroom.

This home’s living room and kitchen use tons of different materials and textures to play on the American flag, from the star-like design of the blue and white rug, to the red stripes on the sofa, chair, pillow, and the piping on the chair. The curtains tie it all together. This space is fun, playful, and all-American—though this home is actually in the UK!

You’d be right if you guessed this living room is in a Dallas, Texas home. This is another example of flags used as art in the home, and we like how the Texas flag is simply framed and leaned against the wall, slightly in front of another piece. The layered rugs add great texture and warmth.
