Many dog owners will go to great lengths for their beloved pets. If you watch any of the international dog shows, you’ll see these pets being treated better than many humans will even experience in their lifetime. But there’s only one dog who’s lucky enough to live in the Samsung Dream Doghouse, a $30,000 doggie pad featuring a treadmill covered in AstroTurf, a hydrotherapy pool, an entertainment wall, and a snack dispenser controlled by the paw.
The International Business Times reported that a team of 12 total designers who collaborated on various aspects of the project. The tiny home took a total of six weeks to build, and on top of the exercise and relaxation amenities, it also includes a vinyl wall where the owner can post various photos to make the pup feel at home. On the opposite wall rests a Samsung Galaxy Tab S, a tablet for when the pup feels like surfing the internet. Of course.
“The Samsung Dream Doghouse looks sleek and modern, featuring the kind of tech the discerning dog of the future will need,” said Andy Griffiths, Samsung Electronics U.K. and Ireland president. “From dogs who have social media profiles, to owners who use video calling to check on their pet while away, technology is fast becoming an integral part of everyday life,” he said.
The company completed a survey of 1,500 dog owners, finding that one out of every four of them would like their pets to have their own treadmills, tablets, and televisions. And out of each of the dog owners surveyed, 64 percent of them believed their dogs would benefit from having gadgets and technology at their disposal and 18 percent said they would like their pet to have his or her own hot tub.
This expensive doggie dream house was given away via a contest on social media. Before delivered, the pad was on display in Birmingham, England at the Crufts Dog Show until March 8.
